She has already reached the 1,000 career kill benchmark. Through three seasons, she has accumulated 1,232 total kills. As if she wasn’t already super talented, she will be on a mission next year to help Mill Valley return to Class 6A state dominance. Mill Valley qualified for the Class 6A tournament, but fell short of winning its third straight title. I would not want to play against a motivated and ticked off Riggs.

Mill Valley also has the No. 1-ranked athlete in the Kansas Class of 2027. Riggs leads the Jaguars in kills and has verbally committed to South Carolina. Her junior season stat line to date includes 425 kills, 171 digs, 426 serve receptions, and 17 kills. Mill Valley has a record of 5-3 against state tournament-qualified teams. The Jaguars’ tournament begins with an 11:00 a.m. match on Court A against the No. 8 Seed Free State. The two teams split two regular-season matches against each other.

Riggs is ranked No. 1 overall and has verbally committed to the University of South Carolina. In 37 sets played, she has registered a team-high 188 kills. She finished with 430 kills last season and is just 110 kills away from reaching the 1,000 career kill benchmark. She is averaging almost one ace per set with 35, and she is closing in on 250 career aces through three seasons.

Mill Valley is one program in the KC Metro that I try to see play at least once in the regular season. My current plan, with the new state format, is to camp out in Hutchinson for the Class 4A and 3A State Tournaments, so chances are, I won’t see the Jaguars make their annual trip to the state tournament in Salina. Riggs is ranked No. 1 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She moved up into the top spot after verbally committing to South Carolina University.
