This game had the potential to be a tight one with the battle for a Division IV region championship on the line at Princeton.

The Roger Bacon Spartans and McNicholas Rockets brought balanced teams to the table so the hitters knew they'd receive a number of one-on-one opportunities with blockers. It came down to which team executed the blocking and serve-receive better. The Spartans did on the way to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 26-24) victory.

Roger Bacon (23-4 overall) is back in the state tournament after losing in the region semifinals last year. The Spartans take on Vincent Warren at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Vandalia Butler. The Spartans won their ninth region championship.
