We made it! The end of the 2024 high school season saw a bunch of firsts and even a couple of records that fell. Even though all three matches were sweeps, there were a number of high-end performances that need a little more attention in our eyes. Here are our top five outside hitting performances from Saturday's State Finals. We also included where each athlete is committed to play after high school, if applicable.

#5: [player_tooltip player_id='237882' first='Maya' last='Harris'], Angola (Illinois, '26)

When everyone in the gym knows where the ball is going and you STILL manage to lead your team in kills against one of the best in the country, you're doing it right. Maya finished her first state title appearance with a commendable 12 kills and 6 digs, along with a year's worth of physical and verbal leadership. Although her tough jump serve was largely stifled by errors and Roncalli, Maya still gets another chance next season to make a return trip to Worthen. A 2026 Illinois commit, Maya's high level of play will carry her (and the Hornets) to more success next fall.

#4: [player_tooltip player_id='152943' first='Logan' last='Bell'], Roncalli (Oregon, '25)

As a six-rotation passer for all four years of her high school career, the Oregon commit led the Royals in so many ways en route to Roncalli's fourth state title and first since 2006. Miss Bell owned all parts of the game, including her 14 kill-13 dig double-double. She also had ten service receptions without an error, which is tough enough to do without all of the state final hoopla surrounding her. From first serve freshman year to hoisting a trophy in her last high school match, there aren't too many that can say they were there on BOTH bookends to a phenomenal career such as Logan's.

#3: [player_tooltip player_id='227184' first='Bailey' last='Sinish'], Carroll

I've heard some say that Bailey shies away from the spotlight and isn't a fan of all of the attention. You wouldn't know it from her performance in Carroll's first volleyball state title on the biggest stage at Worthen Arena. Leading the Chargers with 15 kills and wrapping up a double-double with 11 digs, Miss Sinish nailed all parts of this game we love with ease, even when Yorktown knew where the ball was going. As both the single-match record holder for kills AND the high jump record holder at her high school, this multi-sport athlete is more than capable of making some college happy for having her at the next level.

#2: [player_tooltip player_id='152944' first='Charlotte' last='Vinson'], Yorktown (Indiana, '25)

From life support to state final. There's no true way to honor the resiliency, work ethic and character embodied by Miss Vinson. Realistically, there were rumors that she might not have made it back this fall at all, and where would that put Tiger volleyball? Right back to Worthen Arena, thankyouverymuch. Slowly but surely, Charlotte worked her way back to 100%, and although the ending wasn't of the fairytale variety, her story is still an incredible one, and should be remembered by any who know her. Miss Vinson led all attackers with 18 kills in the 4A final, but will be known more for her four year starter status and that anything is possible when you put the work in every day.

#1: [player_tooltip player_id='154814' first='Raegan' last='Durbin'], Western Boone (Middle Tennessee State, '25)

I've read and heard from those in attendance at the 2A final that there wasn't a more perfect match played all day than what the Stars put together for their first state title in volleyball. She had 24 kills and 10 digs for yet another double-double, and doing all of the little things that makes her one of the best ever to pass through the halls of Western Boone High School. Although the youth feeder program that the Stars run created a player like Raegan, it's safe to say that there won't be another quite like her. What an amazing way to finish her high school career, and, with her graduating early and heading to MTSU early, I believe she's earned a break.
