Class 1 seems to be youth-heavy as both teams that played for the state championship will return a ton of youth. Across the state in Class 1, the 2027 class has some big-time performers on the pins, and here is my list of six top pins for the 2027 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='732896' first='Allie' last='Stockdale'] – 5'8” - Plattsburg

Allie helped Plattsburg reach new heights this past season, winning the school's first district title. The left-pin hitter led all 2027 pin hitters in class 1 in kills with 246. Don't be surprised to see Plattsburg back in the state playoffs next season, as they return everyone but one starter.

[player_tooltip player_id='475347' first='Rylee' last='Laughman'] – 5'8” – Lesterville

Rylee helped the Bearcats make the district title match and win the Black River League Conference with a 152-kill improvement from her freshman year. The versatile hitter finished the season with 233 kills and 283 digs. Watch for Rylee's big season next year, as she will be the team's top returning attacker.

Mollie Mannon – 5'8” – Bell City

Bell City is loaded with youth, and the team returns five of the top six hitters. Mollie finished first on the team in kills with 228, 21 more than her sister, who I wrote about for the top 2028 pins in Class 1. Mollie plays bigger than her 5'8” height and is quick to the ball with a high contact point.

[player_tooltip player_id='485575' first='Emily' last='Lyon'] – 5'7” - Eminence

Emily was one of the bright spots this year for the Redwings as they finished below .500. Emily racked up 214 kills on the season, putting her in the top 10 for kills in Class 1 2027 hitters.

Karlee Clayton – 5'8” – Couch

Couch is a newer program with enough talented youth coming through it that it could make some noise in a couple of seasons. Karlee is a left-pin hitter who sees the block and defense exceptionally well and loves to tip over the block or hit the line shot. The all-conference performer finished the season with 147 kills.

Jessie Thieman – 5'7” – Lockwood

Lockwood players have been covered several times, and Jessie gets her turn. In her first season playing varsity, Jessie finished with 136 kills and had some big-time kills during the district title. Jessie is one of the hardest hitters on the team and, with more experience, will become one of the team's top hitters.
