The 2028 class is shaping up nicely. We've covered several players this week, and now the focus is on the setters and defenders for Class 4. Everyone on the list made massive contributions to their team. Here is a list of seven players who have provided their programs with bright futures.

[player_tooltip player_id='729560' first='Isabel' last='Janes'] – Setter – Pembroke Hill

The youth movement for Pembroke is in full effect, and we have already covered the middle. Now it's Isabel's turn. The swift setter led her team in assists with 479 but could take over next season and run the 5-1. A quick setter with nice hands led all of the Class 4 2028 players in assists, doing it running a 6-2.

Avery Enlund – Setter – Webster Groves

Avery led her team in assists running the 6-2 offense and can also play some tough defense. She would finish the season with 330 assists. A solid defender could turn libero, but by leading her team in assists, she could be the primary setter next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='545003' first='Eden' last='Wilson'] – Setter – Holt

Holt had one of the best seasons in program history, and Eden played a vital role in the team's success. At 5'11", she has excellent height for a setter and can hit on either pin, but she is a natural hitting on the right. Eden finished her first season with 174 assists and 81 kills. Could she be the heir to the setter position next season?

[player_tooltip player_id='630719' first='Samantha' last='O'Day'] – Libero – Lutheran St. Charles

I wouldn't expect anything else from Samantha, being from such a vast volleyball family. Her sister ran the offense, and Samantha kept the balls on the floor. She is a tremendous defender with a high volleyball IQ and understands the game like a seasoned veteran. Samantha was the top passer and led the team in digs with 426.

[player_tooltip player_id='730130' first='Landrie' last='Vogt'] – DS – Jefferson City

I don't know what role Landrie will play next season for the Jays, but she can play setter or libero. This season, she was behind the all-time digs leader at JC. Landrie is athletic, reads the hitters well, and is quick to the ball. With more experience and confidence, Landrie will be a top-notch player for Jefferson City.

Bernadette Shields and Alaina Ortiz – DS – St. Pius X (KC)

The Warriors' defense was covered for the next three years, as Bernadette and Alaina combined for 453 digs. Alaina was the libero, and Bernadette was the right-back DS. Both were solid on defense, quick to the ball, smart and understood the angles. They were also the top two passers on the team.
