Digging Deep: 2027 Kansas Leaders In Digs

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The libero position in Kansas is always deep and there are just not enough colleges for all of the solid defensive athletes in high school.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Therefore, the earlier a solid defensive specialist or libero can get on the radar screen the better.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here is a quick report on the dig leaders from the Kansas Class of 2027. The majority of these athletes play the libero position, but others are six rotation attackers with solid defensive skills. Each athlete finished with dig totals North of the 375 mark.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is not an all-inclusive list as some teams do not post public stats. Stats for this report were found on Max Preps. Also, I did not include athletes with missing information in their Max Preps profiles.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480398' first='Amyah' last='Werth']</strong>, 5'3”, DS/L, Hillsboro, ‘27</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Werth is ranked No. 80 by Prep Dig. She was the unofficial leader in digs for the members of the Kansas Class of 2027. She recorded 626 digs in 91 sets. In just two seasons, she has already registered more than 1,000 digs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='483945' first='Macy' last='Karlin']</strong>, 5'6”, DS/L, Maranatha Chrisitan, ‘27</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Karlin is ranked No. 95 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She finished her sophomore season with 561 digs in 118 sets. She also finished with an impressive total of 102 assists.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='734371' first='Brynn' last='Rebel']</strong>, 5'3”, DS/L, Thomas More Prep, ‘27</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rebel collected 519 assists in 92 sets for the Monarchs. She can score off her serve recording 49 aces in her sophomore campaign. She is currently an unranked by prep Dig.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='516228' first='Jaylie' last='Whitehead']</strong>, 5'5”, DS/L, Silver Lake, ‘27</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Silver Lake's Whitehead is ranked No. 90 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She finished with 455 digs in 96 sets for the Eagles. She registered 441 assists in 90 sets for the Chargers. She reached the 40 ace plateau with 48 aces.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='733190' first='Capri' last='Koechner']</strong>, 5'8”, OH/DS, Maur Hill Prep, ‘27</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Koechner was recently featured for her attacking skills, but she is a six-rotation athlete who can play solid back-row defense. She is an unranked prospect who collected 391 digs in 89 sets for the Ravens. She also finished with 468 serve receptions while making just 27 reception errors.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='483907' first='Gracie' last='Bruna']</strong>, 5'6”, OH, Hanover, ‘27</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bruna recorded a sophomore season with 385 digs in 81 sets.
