Michigan Top 250’s Setter Supremes

We had talent from the east side to west side, Northern Michigan and then down to the southwest pocket. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>UWM Sports Complex was oozing with talent from every position. We're going to be breaking it down through every position. Starting off with the setters!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The setters at this year's top 250 were top of the line. Adapting to a variety of hitters in such short periods of time, these are the ones that make the magic happen. Finding her footing fast, Stotenbur is vocal and is so good at bettering the ball. She was always looking for ways to get her hitters in better positions to score and she often times found herself on the winning side of drills.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='261175' first='Kendal' last='Quain']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Right from the jump, [player_tooltip player_id='261175' first='Kendal' last='Quain'] was showing how versatile she can be at the setters position. A player that can run a nice located ball to the pins, but also is one who can chuck the ball overhead for a quick point too. Quain is as offensive minded as she is running an efficient offense which can bring such a nice layer to any team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='486863' first='Lindsey' last='Schwegman']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is one of those undersized setters who does a nice job moving around the court. [player_tooltip player_id='486863' first='Lindsey' last='Schwegman'] got better and better with her touch throughout the day and she showed some nice defensive plays as well. Schwegman is coming off of a commendable fall that will surely translate into the club circuit.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='443001' first='Zoe' last='Ryan']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:image {"id":437821,"width":"293px","height":"auto","sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none","align":"right"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2023/07/90-Zoe-Ryan-1.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-437821" style="width:293px;height:auto" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">[player_tooltip player_id='443001' first='Zoe' last='Ryan']</figcaption></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another undersized dandies, [player_tooltip player_id='443001' first='Zoe' last='Ryan'] is just so smooth. A player that relies upon her speed and IQ, Ryan can play the game at such a high level. She doesn't need to rely upon flashy plays, Ryan has a nice feel for the game and what it takes to get her team into a scoring position. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='644142' first='Ava' last='Kiernan']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='644142' first='Ava' last='Kiernan'] is going to be a player that we'll have to keep a close eye on throughout this coming club season. She showed a LOT of promising play today. Aside from the pure attributes it takes to be a quality setter, Kiernan was arguably one of the biggest to attend, standing at 6'0. She does a good job using this height to her advantage and can get into a nice tempo. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='523865' first='Kate' last='Belt']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another promising player coming out of this year's 250 and entering her club season is [player_tooltip player_id='523865' first='Kate' last='Belt']. This player is one of those previewed players that is coming off of a nice fall. Belt has a nice touch on the ball and can put up some solid sets. In transition play, Belt looked to become more and more comfortable and running her offense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
