Preg Dig 250: Setters Shined at Showcase

The Maize product was strong in her ball placement and rarely did I see her trap her hitters. An area that gets overlooked that I thought she excelled at was her bump sets when she couldn't get to the ball. She is a player who works hard to get to balls and still finds a way to give presentable attempts to her hitters. She was a setter who stood out with her defensive skills from right back. She will continue to develop and show some positive things with her play. I thought her strong suit was in spreading the ball around and keeping defenders at the net off-balance. Her ability to get in position continued to keep all three options available to her in rhythm. She sets a good tempo ball to the pins and did a solid job with quick ones to the middle. She didn't look like a youngster on the court among older players as she controlled the offense when she held the setting duties. Her placement of balls was consistent and she didn't hesitate to give the "my bad" tap if she was off a tad.
