Rankings Update: Setters

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Today we'll glance at some of the setters in our updated rankings! It's a diverse group with some who are the primary server in a 5-1, some who operate in tandem in a 6-2, and some who set and hit in their offensive system. We can't touch all of them but here is a random mix of setters in the class of 2027.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>18. [player_tooltip player_id='485619' first='Brecklyn' last='Johnson'] - Lee's Summit</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Johnson saw an uptick in production in year two for the Tigers of Lee's Summit. She handed out 700 assists on the season. She has shown she is clean in contact with minimal ball-handling errors. Her defense isn't too shabby, garnering over 200 digs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>46. [player_tooltip player_id='544702' first='Ally' last='Conner'] - Notre Dame De Sion</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Notre Dame went on a string of upset wins to close their season and Conner contributed as one of the setters on the squad. She had over 300 assists and 100 digs in her sophomore campaign. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>52. [player_tooltip player_id='464561' first='Ziah' last='Schmutz'] - Mt. Vernon</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A member of the class 3 all-state team, Schmulz distinguished herself as a top setter in the state this fall. Most of her flash came as an attacker but in a two-setter system, she still dished out 346 assists. The crazy thing is that is the same number from her freshman year. She also had 419 kills, so maybe pivot to the OH position?</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>108. [player_tooltip player_id='664623' first='Paige' last='Berkbigler'] - Perryville</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Berkbigler just about doubled her assists totals from her first two seasons of high school volleyball. She had about 800 more attempts which contributed to her numbers improving drastically. She is another setter who shows they can score with just under 100 kills.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>133. [player_tooltip player_id='544678' first='Adalynn' last='Gibson'] - Potosi</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gibson saw the court in limited action this season but may be in a position to take over the starting role and feed the ball to [player_tooltip player_id='485570' first='Eden' last='Robart']. She has shown she is capable of doing such and interesting to see how her club season goes this year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>147. [player_tooltip player_id='485623' first='Aubrie' last='Gerla'] - Mountain Grove</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gerla has a breakout sophomore season for Mountain Grove and helped set Raylee Stenze to all-state honors. She handed out over ten assists per set on the year and showed her skill set defensively with 196 digs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
