With the Class of 2028 being so talented and so deep, getting noticed isn't going to be easy.

But, L2 brings a hungry group of players looking to do just that with its 152 squad.

Coached by Kaitlyn Schoeppner and Emily Homrock, this team is excited to break out of the crowded pack of 2028 prospects.

Dynamic Hitters

One position that the coaches expect to be strong this season is on the pins. Defne Karabiyik, [player_tooltip player_id='765775' first='Riley' last='Schroeder'] and Emma Thomas are three hitters that are aggressive on the outside and aren't afraid to attack the boundaries. These three will be looking to push the tempo and challenge blockers on each end of the net.

In the middle, [player_tooltip player_id='583927' first='Kailyn' last='Spolsky'], Willow Sherburne and Isabella Rohrabaugh are three middles that mix in nicely with the offense and can make some momentum-swinging plays. Each has a big opportunity to raise their stock this club season, as each will get a healthy number of reps.

Setting, Defensive focus

Having the dynamic hitters won't mean much if L2 can't pass and set the ball effectively. Luckily, that shouldn't be a problem. The team has two setters to work with in Kaitlyn Hartmann and Lila Samhat. Both players are used to healthy competition, so this year will be no different. Each also brings their own strengths to the position.

Defensively, [player_tooltip player_id='765773' first='Myla' last='Bellavoine'] and [player_tooltip player_id='787744' first='Chloe' last='Twinn'] are both capable of sporting the libero jersey and leading the way on defense. Both also bring a lot of leadership to the floor, which will be a strength for the team. Serve receive will be a key for this squad, as if they can get the ball cleanly to the setters, it should allow the team to make some big strides.

Expectations

L2 151 has had some nice wins to open the season. That includes a 10th-place finish at The Nike Classic in the 15 Club Division this past weekend. The Team rattled off some lopsided sets in their favor and also prevailed in a pair of hard-fought, three-set matches. L2 showed it can win pressure points and maintain a high level of composure that bodes well for the events ahead.
