This group is going to be mixing up its division levels to get a good sense of where these 2026 prospects stand.

Coached by Andrew Woo and Abby Thomas, here's a closer look at L2 172.

Length At Setter

L2 is going to have the option of playing a 6-2 or 5-1 this year. The roster features a pair of setters in Katelyn Chapman and Madison Slack. Slack stands 6'0”, coming from the Milan program. She has spent previous club season playing up in age level, which should pay off this year for L2. Slack has a really high ceiling, as she can make a lot of difficult sets and push an aggressive pace. Chapman is also a skilled setter that hits her locations and will give Slack the ability to also play on the right side.

Diverse Hitters

L2 172 has a nice mixture of size and speed with its hitters. One to really look out for will be 6'2” outside [player_tooltip player_id='489939' first='Vivian' last='Jones']. Jones dealt with an injury that hampered her club season in 2024, but she's gotten herself back into form for this club season. With her length and footwork, Jones can be a dominant force offensively and with her blocking. Jones also is an underrated defender that has put a lot of time into her serve receive.

Gabrielle Chenowith is a 5'10” six-rotation outside option that can also stand out as a defender. She brings a lot of natural leadership to the roster as well. [player_tooltip player_id='490024' first='Alexandra' last='Leggett'] is a 5'10” outside coming from Novi that brings a lot of balance to the pins and can get on a hot streak ay anytime. Kenadi Frederick is a right side that has been a great compliment to the offenses she's been in. She's got a technically smooth swing to be aggressive on the right.

In the middle, Kate Mogelnicki and Marley Pihlstrom will lead the way. Though both are listed at 5'9”, they can play much bigger. Both have a lot of spring off the floor, which allows them to remain disruptive to opposing attacks. Pihlstrom has shown the ability to score in a variety of ways and confuse opposing defenses.

Defensive Leaders

Jocelyn Wall and [player_tooltip player_id='442628' first='Elizabeth' last='White'] will handle running the back court for L2 172 this club season. Both play in high-profile high school programs where they get to face a lot of powerful hitters in the state. They have good anticipation for the play and get low to the ground to make tough digs in pressure situations.

Expectations

L2 172 is going to play a mixture of divisions this year, including Open, Premier and Liberty. This squad has the ability to make a lot of noise at each event they compete in, as they play with a lot of competitive fire and selflessness. This past weekend, the squad went 4-3 in the 17 Premier Division of The Nike Classic. The team pulled out a pair of three-set wins along the way, which is a positive sign for their ability to grind out close sets.
