2025 Club Preview: Legacy 17-1 ADIDAS

That is led by outside <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226886' first='Gabby' last='DiVita'] </strong>(Nebraksa) and middles <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226909' first='Kayla' last='Nwabueze'] </strong>(Harvard) and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226875' first='Ella' last='Andrews']</strong>. The three lead our 2026 Player Rankings and have proven to be amongst the best hitters in the country. DiVita has been in a lead, six-rotation role for Legacy for years and has won national titles and Triple Crown titles during her club career. Nwabueze, 6”2”, and Andrews, 6”4”, are as potent of middles as you can find. They can take over a match with their explosive hitting and potent blocking.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Plenty Of Offensive Depth</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As if that trio wasn't enough, Legacy isn't lacking in depth at the net. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='446702' first='Elise' last='Hiemstra'] </strong>(Columbia) is coming off a dynamite prep season with Country Day and is going to get a lot of opportunities to shine this club season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226894' first='Gina' last='Fedrigo'] </strong>(FIU) is also a powerful 6-foot arm on the right side that is a great compliment to Legacy's roster. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='523816' first='Riley' last='Copenhaver'] </strong>(Duke) is a middle/RS option that is capable to coming through with a timely kill or block as well. Legacy will be able to come at you with a lot of weapons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Polished Setting/Defensive Play</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226907' first='Eva' last='Long'] </strong>(NC State) will be running this offense of talented arms once again. Long has a great feel for her hitters and has proven she can handle pressure situations. She's a great vocal leader and knows the right numbers to call. Defensively, Legacy again has the best of the best in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226908' first='Meredith' last='Martin'] </strong>(Michigan), <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='356397' first='Jadyn' last='Kennedy'] </strong>(Toledo) and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226910' first='Kayla' last='Ostrander'] </strong>(Eastern Michigan). Martin had to sit out the prep season due to transfer rules, so she has to be itching to get back on the court. Ostrander was one of Michigan's dig leaders throughout the state during the prep season and has incredible court vision. Kennedy did the same in the state of Ohio and racks up the dig totals quickly.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Expectations</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There's no mincing words for this team. Expectations are very high, if not the highest. This group believes it can be the best 17U team in the country, and it's easy to see why. It's one thing to have the talent on paper, but this team has already proven it can win the best tournaments in the nation. This season is likely to be defined but just a few points, as things usually go when competing for national championships.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
