A huge field of teams traveled to Lawrence on January 4, to compete in the Power League Pre-Qualifier for 15U clubs.

I scouted two matches before the winter weather was expected to hit the Sunflower State.

Shockwave 15-2 and the Topeka Saints 15-2 played a tight pool match to open their respective days.

Here is a look at four prospects on the Shockwave squad who had solid performances in the Wichita Area team's two-set win. Two of the prospects are currently ranked by Prep Dig, while the other two are unranked.

Daughtery was the most explosive athlete I saw on Saturday. She recorded five kills, five digs, and nine serve receptions. She plays six rotations and plays with high energy. She is currently an unranked prospect who proved worthy of being added during the next Kansas Class of 2028 update.

[player_tooltip player_id='529970' first='Leah' last='Thomas'], 5'6”, DS/L, Maize, ‘28

Thomas is ranked No. 85 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. Thomas had the best defensive match of the four teams I scouted. She has quick feet and takes charge on the court. She registered eight serve receptions and three digs in the win over the Saints.

[player_tooltip player_id='551350' first='Addi' last='Wisdom'], 5'9”, S, Maize, ‘28

The most familiar athlete on the Shockwave squad was Maize's Wisdom. Wisdom is ranked No. 18 overall by Prep Dig Kansas. I saw her play for her high school squad last summer and this past fall. She is the youngest of three Wisdom sisters who compete at Maize. She recorded seven assists in the early morning victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='739207' first='Tess' last='Martin'], 5'9”, OH, Bishop Carroll, ‘29

Martin was the only young athlete I saw playing up on Saturday, and I understand why. She can really elevate and has a mature game for her age. She had two kills, four serve receptions, and two aces in the Shockwave victory. I was impressed with her game and she can expect to debut high in the 2029 rankings when they are released later this spring.
