MKE Jamboree - Final Shout Outs & Tournament Gems!

The MKE Jamboree showcased some solid teams with great talent across multiple states. Below are some final thoughts on the tournament and of course, some final shout outs to those gems that I didn't get a chance to mention yet. The I AM Volleyball 16 Red had one of the most stacked teams in the tournament and it showed with them taking home gold in the top tier of the 16u division. With a solid setting combo of [player_tooltip player_id='435886' first='Camilla' last='Kreif'] and [player_tooltip player_id='565660' first='Maliyah' last='Tuszkiewicz'], assists were dished out to many players all over the court. While [player_tooltip player_id='388454' first='Paige' last='Proefrock'] and [player_tooltip player_id='510485' first='Hannah' last='Heitzkey'] certainly tallied up numerous kills, [player_tooltip player_id='500276' first='Emmalee' last='Heniadis'] also had a great day hitting from the pin.    Heniadis was a force hitting from the pins at the tournament. She used numerous shots to score on her opponents. She knew when to be bold and take big swings and also when finesse and placement was needed. Heniadis also had a great tournament on defense. She put up a solid block and covered well on off-block defense.    [program_tooltip program_id='429180' first='Southern' last='Minnesota Volleyball'] 15 Black also had a solid tournament at the Baird Center. There is considerable skill and depth to that squad. I am pretty sure at one point I even saw outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='630730' first='Teagan' last='Hartman'] sporting the libero jersey for a game. However, when I was watching them a new player grasped my attention - attacker [player_tooltip player_id='748970' first='Etta' last='Converse'].    Converse is a big attacker from the pins. I thought she was especially dynamic from the right pin. She transitions quickly, has fast footwork, and unloads attacks from her wicked arm swing. While her swings were fun to watch, I was also impressed with her defense. She put up a solid block that many opponents could not work around.    [program_tooltip program_id='481720' first='Sports' last='Performance Volleyball'] 16 Red made their way to the championship game in the top division. This team has many skilled players on their team. They all fought hard to get to the end especially outside [player_tooltip player_id='747403' first='Natalie' last='Mitchell'] and setter, [player_tooltip player_id='747697' first='Grace' last='Anderson']. Another key piece of their offense was 6 rotation [player_tooltip player_id='748983' first='Caitlin' last='Garrett'].    Garrett is a hard working, 6 rotation outside that has a wide skill set and comes through consistently for her team. She was solid in serve receive and defense. On offense, she read the opposing teams block well and makes adjustments as needed to prevent getting blocked. She often went around the block or used the block to her advantage by scoring points off of her opponents hands.    [program_tooltip program_id='428629' first='One' last='Wisconsin VBC'] also saw some good competition in the tournament. Led by standout 6 rotation [player_tooltip player_id='724537' first='Mollie' last='Junk'], her team fought some hard battles and hung in there with many teams. Opposite Mollie on the other pin was outside [player_tooltip player_id='510417' first='Ethnie' last='Charles'].    Charles is an explosive attacker. She consistently goes up with no fear and takes huge swings from the pin. I like that she is bold and does not back down. Charles also reads the net well, moves quickly, and puts up an effective block. I think Ethnie has a long volleyball career head of her and I am going to be sure to follow her through it.    Features VBC out of the West Salem area, brought some competition to the 16u courts this past weekend. The team is a strong and dynamic team with powerful middles in [player_tooltip player_id='733479' first='Kendall' last='Carlson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='514798' first='Addy' last='Oldenburg'] and with setter, [player_tooltip player_id='733455' first='Claire' last='Stevenson'] running the offense. I hadn't had much of chance to really watch them until this tournament. However, when I did, I was impressed with right side [player_tooltip player_id='733460' first='Makenna' last='Keer'].    Keer is a powerful lefty that will take swings from anywhere on the court. I watched her power down shots on the outside, middle and right pin. She reads the defense well and knows how to find the open spots on the court. She also plays impressive defense and put up a solid block.    [program_tooltip program_id='429156' first='Rapid' last='Fire VBC'] had many teams in the tournament. Their 16 Black fought hard and some really good matches against good teams. With big hitters [player_tooltip player_id='747575' first='Mya' last='Friese'] and Colby McCormick powering down numerous kills, a big shout out must be given to their setter [player_tooltip player_id='749006' first='Camdyn' last='Burgholzer'] who made much of it possible.    Camdyn is a speedy lefty setter with quick hands. She can track down almost anything on the court and deliver it to her attackers. She did a fantastic job delivering consistent balls to her pins and was also able to deliver good balls to her middles when off the net. Burgholzer was also a force on defense and was able to dig up many cross shots and pick up numerous tips and dumps.
