Prez Day Preview At StL: Available 25s In 18 Open

As we get into the meat and potatoes of our club season, President's Day is always the most popular weekend to have a volleyball tournament. One of the bigger locations to host, Saint Louis, will have no less than 105 courts hosting thousands of players from around the midwest. Here are six players from four teams that are still available to play ball next fall at the next level, all playing in the open division of the top age group.    Recently decommitting from Oregon due to a coaching change, Logan has been a primary-passing, six-rotation outside since her 14s season. Easily a Power Four recruit, Logan's all-around game is second to none, as evidenced by her Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year honor from this past fall. She's also an undefeated state champ and First Team All-State honoree, to give you the scope of her talent. And on top of that, her beach game is highly advanced, as she was planning on playing both for the Ducks before reopening her recruitment.     Running the offense for what could be considered an 18-1's team at a number of other clubs, Miss Brown is a tough, high-energy setter that will get to every ball, regardless of where it is passed. As the quarterback of 18 Black, she's chiefly responsible for their early season success, and has had some colleges interested in her services, but none with a commitment attached to them. There are plenty of setters out there that are still available, but none have First-Team All-State honors in their bio like this young lady does.     Miss Gingerich is one of a pair of setters on NIVA's 18 Purple squad that can easily be part of a 6-2 at a small school near you. With strong hands and good feet to get to target, Consistency is her calling card---even in reactionary or out-of-system plays, her training and muscle memory take over and produce a very hittable ball. Defensively, she's good, yet her size might limit her to a 6-2 system for a larger NAIA or a 5-1 in a smaller D3.     Quick on her feet and excellent when anticipating, Peyton is a solid find for playing middle back at the next level. I saw a ton of it during her senior season at Penn, a perennial 20-win program from up north. She reads and reacts with the best of them, and can cover from corner to corner because of that anticipation. Her serve receive is controlled and consistent, and could develop into a nice addition to a defensive specialist stable at any school.     With quick hands and exceptional location, Annika is an underappreciated setter who can be part of a 6-2 or a 5-1, depending on your needs. Big enough to be a front row blocker in the 5-1, Miss Schrock has strong enough hands to turn back all kinds of attackers. In running an offense, the ball gets out of her hands quickly and with purpose, all while highly terminable for her hitters. At this stage of the recruiting game, if I was looking for a setter, there are far worse options out there than Annika.
