Before I hit the highway this morning to return home, I wanted to share my third report on athletes who competed in the Keeper Of The Plains Tournament in Wichita.

I saw four matches, discovered an unfamiliar club, and was surprised by the depth of the talent in the tournament. If you missed them, check out the two reports published on Prep Dig Kansas yesterday covering the tournament.

Profiles for each of these athletes have been created and athletes can claim their FREE profiles by using this link https://prepdig.com/prospect-index/#claim-profile-anchor

Athletes are encouraged to claim their profiles and add contact information and video highlights. Athletes with claimed profiles will get a slight advantage in the rankings at the onset. The more complete a profile is, the better a source it serves as for the college coaches who subscribe to our site.

With the coverage of this tournament Prep Dig has 100 athletes in the Class of 2029 database. Rankings will be released later this spring. I would like to have close to 150 athletes in the initial rankings. It's a prime time for athletes from smaller schools and lesser known club teams to get their foot in the door and start their recruiting journey.

Athletes can create their own profiles using the previous link, or you can reach out to me on X @KSScoutDeck to be considered for the rankings.

Here are six athletes I was impressed by during Saturday matches. Well wishes to every team still playing and safe travels home.

[player_tooltip player_id='753227' first='Chloe' last='Miller'], 5'7”, S, De Soto, '29 (Empire 14-1)

So there were two big surprises on Saturday. First off, I discovered that the Empire Volleyball Club was a Kansas-based club. I was unfamiliar with them heading into the Keeper of the Plains. Secondly, the play of future De Soto Wildcat Miller surprised me. This young lady can set. She is tall for a setter and can hit, block, and defend when called upon. She will be ranked high when the Kansas Class of 2029 rankings are released this spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='753226' first='Kenzie' last='Eagle'], 5'9”, MB, Maranatha Christian Academy, '29 (Empire 14-1)

Maranatha is another program that has been solid in the past. Eagle is in their pipeline. She is a physical front-row player. She is strong had one really solid block and got a couple of other touches on attacks in a win over Manhattan Mayhem 14-1.

[player_tooltip player_id='753241' first='Halle' last='Burke'], 5'3”, S, Beloit, '29 (Manhattan Mayhem 14-1)

Beloit is a standout program and one in which Burke can thrive in. She is a super quick athlete and can do a little bit of everything on the court. Beloit has some talent on the team now and coming up and I was getting visions of how good they could be moving forward. Burke had five assists, three digs, and two kills in the loss to Empire.

[player_tooltip player_id='753206' first='Camila' last='Ortiz'], 5'5”, OH, Garden City, '29 (SW Pursuit 14-2)

Ortiz is a gamer and athletic. I don't think I saw her best-hitting performance but she can make a ball cry. She played six rotations for the Pursuit. She has a compact swing and a nice approach.

[player_tooltip player_id='753207' first='Avery' last='Mullen'], 5'5”, OH/DS, Ulysses, '29 (SW Pursuit 14-2)

Mullen is a feisty athlete with a take-charge attitude. She collected three kills, three digs, and six serve receptions in the loss to Shockwave 14-3.

[player_tooltip player_id='753215' first='Jaisa' last='Irvin'], 5'3”, DS/L, Scott City, '29 (SW Pursuit 14-2)

Irvin is a bouncy libero who played solid defense for the Pursuit. She finished with four digs and three serve receptions in the loss to Shockwave 14-3.
