The Power League #2 tournament this past weekend in Kansas showcased some of the top prospects in the Kansas and Missouri areas. The second all star team is represented by a great group that stood out on their respective teams. Each of these players are huge contributors to their current teams and could do the same for a collegiate program.

(S) [player_tooltip player_id='355658' first='Audrey' last='Arnold']: Shockwave 17 Black

Audrey is the type of setter that can make blockers ankles break. She keeps her contact point high and releases the ball so quickly that it's almost impossible for blockers to read. Getting the ball out of her hands quickly allows her hitters to gauge the ball earlier in its path. Having a quick release with the strength and footwork to set across the court is a skill that most setters just don't have. The best part about her game isn't just her setting but it's the IQ and understanding she has of the position. She's a great decision maker and forces seams in blocks based on her reads. Audrey is the type of setter collegiate coaches love to work with.

(OH) Joy Finley: MAVS 816 17 National

The first thing you notice when watching Joy play is her ability to whip through a ball. Her wrist snap and high contact really forces blocks in tough situations. She gets on the ball quickly and puts enough pace to either put the ball down in the seam or to tool the block. She's not the tallest outside but has a good vertical leap and good contact height to take advantage of the opposing block. Outside of hitting her serve receive is also very technically sound. She has a really calm platform and is able to pass the ball inside and outside of her hips. When you look at an outside hitter at the next level the two top skills are the skills that Joy is great at.

(OH) Sydni Lafasciasno: [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] 17 Black

Sydni had the best vertical leap in the tournament. Her ability to almost float in the air when hitting or blocking is a sight to see. She not only can jump high but she has all of the skills you'd look for in an outside hitter. Her arm swing is fast, loose, and very dynamic. She's able to play in a fast offense and manipulate the speed of the ball when attacking opposing defenses. Whether she wants to bounce the ball in the seam or roll the ball to the donut she makes her approach look the same. Her range and ability to change speeds makes her a deadly offensive option for her team. Her volleyball IQ isn't just shown on offense but defensively as well. She's a fantastic prospect who has all of the potential to be a force at the collegiate level.

(MB) [player_tooltip player_id='489650' first='Taylor' last='McDonald']: Shockwave 17 Black

Taylor has the athletic profile that all college coaches look for in middle blockers. She's tall, long, quick, and has a great vertical jump to round it out. She's a dynamic blocker that takes a ton of space away for opposing hitters. Her ability to close blocks and press over the net is impressive. Offensively she shows how many options she has in her tool box. She has the ability to tip, push, or hit the ball to any spot. The best thing about watching her from this past weekend was her ability to also hit from the outside position on her team. That type of versatility, skill, and athleticism is exactly what collegiate programs look for.

(MB) [player_tooltip player_id='489662' first='Addison' last='Rockley']: KNVBC 17 Showtime

Addison was a huge factor for her team this past weekend. She made a huge statement as a blocker closing blocks and getting great touches. She has great lateral quickness and vertical which allows her to use her IQ to slow the game down. She makes great reads and rarely gets beat by the opposing offense. She forces opposing offenses to commit to covering or attempting to create offense away from where she's blocking. Offensively she gives her team a consistent option for their team to rely on. She has all of the shots while still showing her ability to put a ball down. Her dominance at the net on both sides is why she's an all star from this past weekend.

(RS) [player_tooltip player_id='355660' first='Alyssa' last='Gray']: [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] 17 Black

If you give Alyssa too much space to work with on offense she's going to take full advantage. If you give her too much line she will blow up your libero but if you take too much line she will bounce the ball in front of your setter. There's not a lot of answers when it comes to stopping Alyssa offensively. She has a really quick arm swing and really emphasizes her wrist snap. Alyssa creates a ton of spin on the ball which makes it even harder for teams to dig. When you see her at the net blocking she does a great job of being on time and having good positioning. Alyssa has all of the necessary skills and athleticism to be a great option for a college program.

(L) [player_tooltip player_id='513239' first='Mia' last='Brenner']: OVC 17-1

The team relies on Mia a ton both in serve receive and defensively which displays the trust in her skills and leadership. Mia makes the game look easy especially in serve receive. She stays nice and calm but does a great job beating the ball to its spot while keeping it in front of her. She's able to create angles outside of her body and manipulate her hips to be able to pass with more range. Defensively she shows the same calmness with her platform yet is tenacious on getting the ball up. She has great reaction time and does a great job of reading opposing offenses. Mia still has a ton of room to grow and is a great prospect for colleges to look at.

Each of these prospects are dynamic athletes who helps their respective teams succeed. The ability for each of these athletes to not only play at a high level but to be technical with their skills is impressive. I can't wait to share the last all star team to highlight even more fantastic prospects from this past weekend at the [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] League tournament.
