It sure does not feel like the Champions Cup has already passed, but time flies, especially during busy weeks. I wanted to take some time to reflect on some of the truly impressive 2027s who had performances to remember at the Champions Cup.    Jordyn is playing up an age group on the 17s team for North Star and is a huge presence on the court. She is a go-to hitter with a lot of potential. Jordyn works to contact the ball high and isn't afraid of taking swings in big moments. She showed she could dig deep at the Champions Cup and helped her team come back from several deficits throughout the weekend.     Kalena was playing at libero and was an energizer and communicator on the court. She was quick and ready to cover on every play. Her platform was clean in serve receive, and she could consistently take up a lot of space on the court while putting up great passes to her setters. Kalena had all the makings of a truly awesome libero at the Champions Cup and is an athlete to watch in this class.     Olivia is a gritty athlete who does what she needs to do to get the job done. She sets across the front row for One Wisconsin and is a very offensively-minded setter. Olivia keeps opposing blockers honest as she isn't afraid to jump and take a swing or use a power tip to earn points. She also utilizes every hitter and loves to find her middles. Every player on the court is a weapon when Olivia is setting.     Maddy is a setter who pays attention to the little details. She keeps every hitter involved and has greate movement and fundamentals. Maddy's discipline and the care she takes to keep every hitter involved and place her sets effectively really set her apart. Her hard work is apparent and her talent pushes her game to the next level.     Madeline is a libero for FVP who reads opposing hitters well. She always seems to be exactly where she is needed on defense and takes up a lot of space on the court. She is the type of player who frustrates opponents because she rarely lets anything hit the floor and never without full effort. Madeline was so impressive throughout the Champions Cup and was a named Top Performer at the tournament.     Isabell caught my eye because she did a great job making solid plays in tough situations. She was consistently given balls during scramble plays and could put a hard-driven ball into a crafty location on the court. When given the opportunity, Isabell was smart about terminating on the pin. Isabell is a lefty with good ball control and court vision.     Amary is a setter with a lot of potential. She has a great touch on the ball and can be tough to read. Her movement across the court is smooth and efficient and she showed that time and again at the Champions Cup. Amary brought a consistent confidence to the court and had good ball placement. She was relentless across the two-day tournament and an essential piece for I AM.     What stood out to me about Summer was her confidence using her hands on defense and out-of-system sets. It made it harder to read her and helped her put up more consistent sets. Summer was incredibly disciplined - I am not sure I ever saw her miss a moment in coverage or an opportunity to make a play to help her team.     Madeline is a pin hitter for I AM and was so impressive, especially in the front row. She has a huge vertical and quick arm swing. Madeline earned a lot of points running balls out of the middle and could terminate efficiently. Her on-court adjustments were quick and smart, typically ending in a point for her team.     Keira is a scrappy and relentless libero. She won't let anything hit the ground without giving full effort. She gets a touch on literally anything that comes over the net, and typically, it is a high and playable ball. Keira is the definition of gritty on the court and works overtime to keep the ball alive.     Ruby is a jumpy middle who plays like she has springs in her shoes. Her athleticism and explosive approach aid in her ability to reach massive heights. Her block takes up a lot of space. On offense, Ruby has the potential to be a massive threat against any opponent.     Rylee plays an incredibly clean game. She works hard, is gritty, and leads by example on the court. Rylee never takes a point off and is constantly pushing herself to elevate her game and make smart adjustments. Rylee was a stand-out player at the Champions Cup and will only continue to impress.     Brooklyn is a middle who could have a breakout season. When I saw her play at the Champions Cup she was working hard on every play and doing all of the little things right. She was very intentional in her play and as a result her setters were finding her often.     Paige really showed her leadership at the Champions Cup. She had a clean touch on the ball, pushed the tempo when she could, and had solid placement for her hitters. She consistently played at a high level throughout the tournament and simply put, she played a very clean game of volleyball.     Leah's potential is sky high. She has a deep well of athletic talent and is well on her way showing exactly what she is made of. She was engaged throughout every point and worked hard out of the middle to try to close every block and transition efficiently to hit. This takes a lot of discipline and endurance and is a near non-stop effort.     Lily is the kind of middle who can take over a match. She puts up a consistent block and has a great volleyball IQ. She brings power and finesse to the middle position and can be relied upon to earn points for her team. Lily makes great on-court adjustments and utilizes every set she gets. She is a player who could be a huge impact athlete in this class and showed that at the Champions Cup.     Faith had a huge breakout weekend at the Champions Cup. She was fearless on the right side for Southwest and by the end of the weekend was one of their go-to hitters. She took big swings and made smart choices, always working to earn points and reduce errors. Faith impressed me every time I saw her play and helped her team to a 2nd place gold finish.     Samantha was the definition of scrappy at the Champions Cup. She was quick and got touches on some pretty incredible balls. Her work in coverage really set her apart and she stood out in serve receive as well. Samantha is the whole package as a libero. She leads the back court and is an energizer for her team. Despite rarely having a break, she played with the same, if not more, energy on in the championship as she did in the first match.     Emma is a pin who could make moves in this class. She played on the outside for Southwest in all six rotations and improved in every match. As a middle transitioning to the pin, Emma looked incredible. She was focused, had a clean platform, and worked to help her team on every point. She played all six rotations the entire weekend and contributed in every facet of the game.     Maitlyn immediately stood out to me for how fundamentally sound she is with her setting form. She has clean hands, consistent footwork, and a quick release. This sets her up for success to feed her hitters great balls from nearly anywhere on the court. The value of Maitlyn's consistency cannot be understated and it helped her team seal the championship.     Avery is a lefty whose swings pack a punch. She initially caught my eye with how aggressive she was on out-of-system swings. Her fearlessness and confidence in her contact on the ball was fun to watch. She also set a nice block on the right side and did her job to make her teammates lives easier.     Isabel was an absolute gamechanger on the court. At one point she earned back-to-back points on huge kills and changed the entire momentum of the set. She is an explosive athlete who is physical with the ball and uses the opposing block to her advantage. She also gets great block touches herself.     Caroline impressed me at the Champions Cup. She was always ready to fight for points on both offense and defense. She was scrappy and gritty when she needed to be yet found ways to be consistent and earn points. Her consistency in her play was key.
