Her athleticism alone put her on the map, but the all-around game and high-level volleyball acuity sold it for the folks at Hanover. With a solid base and a calm platform, her defensive techniques include reading and reacting to attackers (instead of guessing) and a willingness to hit the floor to do the dirty work. Her high attack point makes her a prime outside hitting candidate, her broad shoulders allow her to block the middle well, and her heavy arm swing make her look at home as a terminator on the right side. She's big enough to get the tight passes and locates well on out-of-system balls. Defensively, Miss Hoaks understands the assignment---her ball control is solid and consistent for her position---and is above average in all skills. Her feet are constantly active and partner well with her calm and intentional platform in serve receive. On defense, her read-and-react is quicker than most, and she covers a ton of ground despite her smaller-than-average stature.
