She is super athletic and is ranked by both Prep Dig and Prep Girls Hoops. She is a hitting machine on the volleyball court and a premium glass cleaner on the basketball court. After flirtations with Oklahoma State and Pittsburg State, she is signing to play both sports for the Butler Grizzlies. Schmidtlein is the No. 1-ranked athlete by Prep Dig in the Kansas Class of 2028. She is also ranked No. 11 by Prep Girls Hoops Kansas. Hayden advanced to a Class 4A Sub-State with a 53-17 win over Chanute last night. Hayden will host Baldwin on Saturday, which means I don't get to see Schmidtlein play with her Topeka Saints 15U Power League team in Kansas City this weekend. Schmidtlein is a special athlete who can dominate in the paint and at the net.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='523621' first='Lexi' last='Hecht'],</strong> 5'8”, OH, Wamego, ‘26</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hect is another natural athlete who excels at both volleyball and basketball. She is a fast guard who takes care of the ball and can score from three levels. Wamego has advanced to a Class 4A Sub-State final and will travel to Eudora on Saturday. She is scoring 16.6 points per game and grabbing 5.9 rebounds per contest. She is an impressive back-row player for the Eagles. She finished with 202 digs during his sophomore campaign. Ellinwood defeated Stanton County 37-36 to advance to the Class 2A Sublette Sub-State Final. The Eagles will face off against Phillipsburg on March 8.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
