Red Rock Rave NQ - Coach Mike DZ's Top Performers Vol 1

The courts are rocking at the Red Rock Rave National Qualifier in Las Vegas, Nevada.  It is being held at the Las Vegas Convention Center and we have multiple scouts in the house to cover the event.  There were so many great match ups and amazing plays on every court.  This series will cover quite a few players who stood out to me while I watched in person.  Let's see who earned my top performer award for their individual effort.    Kapri is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings, but she will be added once I update them in a few weeks.  She plays volleyball for Campbell High School and currently plays for the Sunshine volleyball club program.  Recently she has committed to University of Michigan.  At the net as a blocker, she has great timing and presses over the net really well.  This is the second year that I have watched her in person and she keeps getting stronger and better each time I see her.  This kind of steady progress tells me that the future is very bright for her.  On day one of the tourney, her aggressiveness was noticeable as an attacker.  There was never a time that she wasn't ready to swing away for her squad.  Blessed with very quick footwork, Kapri moves around the court very well to battle whoever matches up against her.  What also stood out to me when I saw her attack was how she was able to change her hand contact on the ball and attack with some fierce power.  She got on top of the ball and threaded the needle through the seam of the block with tons of pace.  The speed of her down swing is very impressive and it creates a lot of momentum into the ball as she makes contact.  On a team of very impressive ballers, she stood out.  We are eager to watch her throughout the rest of the tournament and club season.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award.     Avery is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings, but she will be added once I update them in a few weeks.  She plays volleyball for Folsom High School and currently plays for the Omni volleyball club program.  Many things surprised me when I watched this phenom in action.  I was introduced to her from a parent of another player who spoke very highly about her.  After learning that she is a standout basketball player also and splits time between the two sports, it amazed me even more to see her connect on quicks with her setter.  In order to have a solid connection with you setter, as a middle, it takes rep after rep to get it really great, however Miss Masters is making it look very easy.  Driving her feet hard into the ground, she was on time for every route that she ran. Blessed with some amazing fast-twitch muscle fibers, her change of direction was elite at the net and during defensive transition.  After watching her only for a short while, you can see how she is primed for the big stage right away.  The fact that she is a 2027 playing up an age group in the open level tells you a lot about her abilities.  I am going to be keeping my eye on her closely and think every college coach in the country should also as she is a can't miss recruit who could play both sports at the next level.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award.     Bella is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She plays volleyball for Plano Senior High School and currently plays for the MadFrog volleyball club. While this team gets tons of recognition for their high-powered offense, their defense is just as good. Many players contribute to the ball control but in the match I watched, it was Bella who was the star of the show. It would be one thing if her team was playing scrubs, but they are in the open division and she is making all fo the hard driven balls that come her way look like easy free balls. While hitters get all of the glory in this sport, true volleyball aficionados like myself love what players like Miss Osborn bring to the game. There were times during the match I watched where I wanted to tell the opposing coach, “bro stop trying to test this young lady!” One rally in particular she dug three straight missles like they were nothing and she had the entire crowd around her court cheering with excitement. This is nothing new to anyone around her squad because she always brings this level of defense. Her style of play is very technical with precise movements that help her to deliver the ball perfectly to her setter. But don't sleep on her ability to sprawl out laterally for the ball, because her speed is elite. She can really push off with her outside foot and create a lot of momentum to extend her range defensively. I cannot wait to publish the rankings for this class, because she will for sure be listed. Please help us congratulate her on earning the Top Performer award.
