Named MVP at the Kansas City NTDP camp and earning a ticket to the All-America Game in Orlando is not a small credential for a middle blocker still in high school. Masters has accumulated 577 kills and 260 total blocks across her varsity career at Folsom and her 6’3″ frame generates a contact point that defensive systems have to account for before the setter even touches the ball. Her approach touch reflects a player who attacks from a height that creates genuine problems for standard blocking schemes. She is committed to Oregon and competes in basketball alongside volleyball, which tells you the athleticism she brings is functional and translates across demand levels. The blocking production across her career is the most compelling number in her profile because it reflects consistency at the net over three seasons rather than one standout stretch. Masters is one of the more decorated front row prospects in the California class of 2027 and the ranking reflects exactly that. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.

The individual performances that drove Folsom’s run through the Durango tournament were significant and worth highlighting in detail. Senior middle blocker Avery Masters Avery Masters 6'3" | MB Folsom | 2027 State CA was a wall at the net throughout the event. The 6’3″ OMNI Volleyball product and 2026 NTDP Summer Training Series invitee, who was named MVP at a Kansas City national camp this past summer, redirected attackers and altered swings on contact she did not fully stuff, making every hitter on the other side of the net account for her presence before they left the ground. That kind of blocking impact is not always captured in a box score but it changes the math of a match in ways that experienced scouts and college coaches will recognize immediately.

In Avery’s Words

Avery Masters Avery Masters 6'3" | MB Folsom | 2027 State CA was named MVP at the Kansas City camp and has the opportunity to earn a ticket to the All-America Game in Orlando.

Avery is heading into camp focused on technical growth that translates at the highest level. She is most excited to showcase her improvement in eye sequencing and blocking, areas she has clearly invested time into refining. For her, this invitation represents recognition and opportunity, a chance to step into the gym with other highly talented athletes and compete alongside them. She values the competitive environment and sees it as a space to test herself and continue to elevate her game. If given the opportunity to bring a teammate, Avery would choose Lyla Alvarado, the setter on her club team, believing Lyla’s athleticism and range would allow her to compete confidently and show her full skill set.

“It means a lot to be recognized and be able to be in the gym with other girls who are so talented and to compete with them.” Avery Masters Avery Masters 6'3" | MB Folsom | 2027 State CA
