Six Bracket Busting Middles

The Prep Dig Bracket Busters had all the high-flying pins, defensive dynamos, and smooth setters. But it also had some pretty mighty middles, and we are going to talk about them here.

Emineth is fairly new to me. Not that I haven't seen her play, I have but she is playing better than ever and it is awesome to see an athlete click and really grow in the sport. Emineth was playing aggressive, confident, and having fun while doing it.

Wilson was bringing the hammer down this weekend. I love how her game has exploded along with her vertical and the power she is putting behind swings at different angles. Wilson is fast laterally and in transition making her a setter's favorite target.

Arndt is a middle with a very aggressive approach followed by a very heavy swing on the ball. She moves well, works hard in transition and she is smooth on the slide approach. Arndt plays well on the defensive side of the ball as well as a blocking force.

https://twitter.com/BreitNelson/status/1906052766524395837

Rengo was patrolling the entire net and she has really good reactions to go along with pretty quick lateral movement along the net. She has a natural high reach and fast swing that allows her to go over most blockers and score at will. If an overpass is coming her way you might as well give it a funeral because she will bury it.

https://twitter.com/BreitNelson/status/1905989600360681844

I think this tournament was the best I've seen Kotlowski play so far. I really love her explosive jump and how she was working sharp angles to work around the block. Defensively she was getting a ton of great block touches to take some pressure off the defenders behind her.

https://twitter.com/BreitNelson/status/1906050621037273537

Kennedy can pack a serious punch. She has an aggressive approach to the ball no matter where she is coming from and violent swing after reaching on top of the ball. Kennedy can be seen working hard in transition and she isn't afraid to use a deep tip into the corners.
