Sunshine Classic Week 2 Showcase Top Performers Vol 3

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are super excited partner up with USA Volleyball and to run our Sunshine Classic Pre-Tourney Showcase in conjunction with the Sunshine Classic National Qualifier in Orlando, FL on February 21^st and February 27^th.  It is being held at the [program_tooltip program_id='518441' first='Winter' last='Park Volleyball Club'] and live streamed via BallerTV.  This article series will discuss some of the players that turned the heads of the court coaches and scouts that were in attendance from Week 2.  The energy in the gym was very electric on every court.  Let's see who earned the Top Performer award from the showcase. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block Prep Dig Florida State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released them for her state yet.  She plays volleyball for Vero Beach High School and currently plays for the VEVA volleyball club program.  Miss Dayton stole the show on her court as she proved to have such a high motor in all facets of her position.  Not only did she move laterally very fast, but when she got stuck staying with her opposing middle and had to close the block to the pins, she made a valiant effort to reach over and close with her hands effectively.  With her aggressiveness at the net, her squad was very competitive with everyone they matched up against during the two hours.  As a route runner, she has precision footwork and there is not a location on the net that she isn't effective at.  In our minds, she is the total package as a strong middle who can take over games if you need her to on both ends.  She is even capable of playing some right side and being a shut down blocker as she presses over the net well.  We thoroughly enjoyed her court presence and demeanor and strongly recommend that all college coaches give her a look.  Please help us congratulate her on earning the Top Performer Prep Dig Florida State Rankings, but I will recommend her name to Florida scouts after what I witnessed at the showcase.  She plays volleyball for the West Port High School and also plays for the Momentum volleyball club program.  Miss Rivera Virella started off on a lower court, but moved up rather quickly once we saw what she was capable of at the net.  As I walked by her court, I watched her put a hole in the floor with a monster shot from the left side pin.  It was then that I grabbed her and put her on the top court.  She proved me right as she turned some heads immediately on that court.  This young lady has an absolute cannon for a right arm and brings the heat with the best of them.  What stands out to me is her timing and court vision when she is in the air.  Not only does she get completely on top of the ball, but she sees the blockers in front of her and has the uncanny ability to move the ball around them to score efficiently.  We will be watching her progress closely and think every college coach should also.  This terminator can help a program now if they want a point scoring outside who also has ball control.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Dig Georgia State Rankings, but that is only because they have not been released for her state yet.  She plays for Brookstone High School and also club for the COLAVOL volleyball Club program.  You cannot teach height and Miss Galligan has a lot of it.  She has the prototypical frame that will fit in nicely at the next level.  Her upper body is super strong and she uses it very well at the net in both offense and defense.  Armed with shoulders that scream, “you better not test me”, she is a nightmare for opposing hitters when she takes away space while pressing over the net.  What I love about her style is that she has no mercy on the defensive unit that she is going up against.  When she gets the ball, they better be ready because she will unload bombs that are very difficult to guard against.  If the blocker is not in a prime position to play the ball, she will make them pay and score a kill with a tool off of them out of bounds.  If there is a seam or split in the block, I feel sorry for the defender in the back row because the ball will be shot out of a cannon at them.  We think she has a very high ceiling to keep improving and that is scary for anyone she will go up
