The Class of 2028 has some serious depth.

We recently covered a handful of 15 USA standouts from NLQ #2, which included [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Elite's bid-earning triumph. But, as we highlighted heading into the event, the Great Plains Region brought several teams to the party in 15 American. Many were on the doorstep of USAV bids, so we're taking another look at the weekend's standouts.

A top-five finish will do a lot for Club Legacy 15 Alpha's confidence.

This club has been a mainstay at recent NLQ weekends, and 15 Alpha added to the team's extraordinary Minneapolis track record. Club Legacy's 15 American entry started the event by racking up seven consecutive wins, locking up the team's trip to the final 15 American bracket. 15 Alpha went one step further in the single-elimination race by taking down one of Iowa PowerPlex's squads.

15 Alpha wields a lot of firepower on the pins with Kelsie Holder and Kamryn Hohenstein making an impact on the right side. 2028 standout [player_tooltip player_id='774692' first='Lucy' last='Stockdale'] has also been a persistent backcourt force as the team's libero. Several more watch list additions loom on this roster.

[program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Blue

[program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Blue joined 15 Alpha in the division's Gold bracket, and the team experienced quite a journey to get there. This group finished 2-1 in both rounds of pool play, setting up a challenge match with SWMVB 15-1. As mentioned in our Championship Sunday primer, this SWMVB group hadn't dropped a set through two rounds. That changed late Saturday night as 15 Blue pulled off the straight-set upset to advance.

Ball control was a major factor in 15 Blue's success. [player_tooltip player_id='575834' first='Lola' last='Warnock'] was exceptional along the end line, and she got some help from all-around pin hitters like Vayda Hagedorn and Meredith Masters. We'll also give a shoutout to Lauren Hart, who played a multi-faceted role as a setter-opposite for 15 Blue.

Premier Nebraska 15 Silver

Like 15 Blue, Premier Nebraska 15 Silver was only one challenge match away from reaching 15 American's Gold bracket. The team still had an impressive 5-3 showing in Minneapolis, perhaps setting a precedent for further Premier Nebraska success at NLQ.

15 Silver's scrappy play has become a defining characteristic for this squad. Arianna Rangel is a huge tone-setter in the back row and collaborates with six-rotation standout [player_tooltip player_id='575228' first='Jillian' last='Fabrikant']. Hard-hitting opposite [player_tooltip player_id='774721' first='Kaylynn' last='Mailloux'] had a breakout weekend at NLQ, and [player_tooltip player_id='575214' first='Addison' last='Nguyen'] was unstoppable on the other pin.

Nebraska Elite 15 Heat

Here's a much-deserved nod to one of Nebraska Elite's 15s contenders. Nebraska Elite 15 Heat amassed a 5-3 record in Minneapolis and were right on the cusp of a bracket berth. The team ended strong by winning its final flight with triumphs against Dallas Premier and Katy United.

15 Heat brings a perfect medley of physicality and finesse to the fray. Kierra Garrett, a Class of 2027 standout from Omaha Westside, locked down the libero jersey and delivered dimes throughout NLQ. This allowed game-changing middle blockers like Sophia Radda and Lillian Enger to get involved in the offense, and 15 Heat took full advantage. Length at the net is a huge advantage for this upstart Nebraska Elite group.

Club Legacy 15 Bravo

How about the depth at Club Legacy?

15 Alpha wasn't the only Club Legacy group to post a winning record in 15 American. 15 Bravo finished with a 5-3 mark and reached Round 2 after a strong start in pool play.

Look out for 15 Bravo's frontcourt weapons. Alayna Thrasher and Kiana Pierre formed a formidable wall at the net and were also strong transition attackers for this group. Berkeley Osborne dished out an efficient offense and made several clutch defensive plays in the right-back area.
