2027 Rankings: Top Setters

Let's take a look at a handful of the setters who made our list. This position is critical to a team's offensive success. How well rounded and mentally mature a setter is can have a huge impact on winning and losing a match. We have a total of 25 that are in our top 130. This is a rather setter heavy class comparatively.    Aliyah is a gamer. She thrives under pressure and loves to compete for each point. Her tall frame and athleticism allows her to play in a 6-2 or 5-2 system. She also has been trained as a hitter and can stay in as a right side if need be. Her footwork is efficient and hands are clean when she is setting. Her touch point while hitting is something others should try to replicate. I haven't seen her serve receive yet but i'm fairly sure she would kill it as well. Her versatility is why we put her ahead of the rest and #1 at her position.     Avery was very impressive at the Rankings Tournament. I have also gotten to see multiple highlight clips which only confirms what we already thought. She will be a huge pickup for any local college, if she doesn't go to a larger school out of state. She has the skill set and the intangibles to be phenomenal. Such as her tenacity, leadership, drive and calmness. This is why we have her top 5 in the state.     Much like the others, she has expanded her game this club season. She has added the ability to hit and serve receive into her repertoire. She has also started to work on attacking as a setter from the front row. She will likely shoulder a larger load this upcoming school season. The next 365 will be very telling on what the next level will look like for her.     Georgia has a heck of a motor and a high IQ. Her ability to get the ball consistently to the best option is a big reason Charge 16 National is rolling this season. Norman will continue to see more growth this upcoming season with her at the helm. She is also very good defensively in transition. An underrated aspect of her game is how well she transitions from a passer to a setter. Always getting to the net and working off of it. She is impressive and deserving of being top 10 in her class.     Mac is sneaky good. She hustles and is very encouraging. She was a big reason they won the championship at Southern Challenge even though they played up in the 17/18 division. Her hands are awesome. She has a great release and delivers a good ball every time. She seems to be developing the ability to go up tempo more confidently and set against the flow. Piedmont has a solid setter to build around in 2025.    Bid season is among us. Good luck to all those girls and teams fighting for a chance to play at nationals this summer.
