In our last installment of Indiana-based teams that have qualified for GJNC 18s in Salt Lake City this weekend, we take the time to celebrate the kids that are on the cusp of greatness, and still have a ton to show for their efforts. Most of these athletes are not seniors---in fact, you could possibly enjoy a few more years out of a couple of the kids listed today. All six of these ladies are playing in 18 American this weekend, and should be major x-factors in their respective teams' success.

With the great majority of this roster committed to play at the next level, let's take some time to talk about the kids that are still looking for a home for their respective graduating classes. [player_tooltip player_id='489479' first='Mariana' last='Van Der Aa'] has bounced around to a couple of different high schools, but the talent remains the same. Big and physical, the right side seems to be a comfortable home for her, as her block is solid and her attack is heavy. She gets her feet to the ball on both offense and defense, producing a consistent base underneath her, showing balance and strength. [player_tooltip player_id='298094' first='Annabelle' last='Hoban'] is an energetic defender from volleyball blue-blood Cathedral who can be a difference maker for anyone needing such a person. On serve receive, she's controlled in her platform, while her feet stay active. On defense, she anticipates well, has quick-twitch abilities on hard-driven balls and is willing to hit the floor to clean up what others can't. Finally, Milyn Kirsh is a springy and flight-bound middle who is also well-known for her track abilities---she's already an indoor state champ in the long jump, which at last glance was over 18 feet. This class of '27 high flyer can go over other middles, and already has the size to hold down the middle position for the rest of her career at Avon.

Although this roster isn't as well known, there are some solid choices among them to play at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id='534071' first='Miranda' last='Woodard'] is a big and physical hybrid attacker that can play either middle or right side at the next level. Broad-shouldered and strong, as of this writing, Miranda has accepted a scholarship offer to play in college, making her one of only two players in Decatur Central history to do exactly that. [player_tooltip player_id='402576' first='Eliana' last='Tucker'] looks very natural from the right side in both the front and back rows, and can do anything she wants with both in- and out-of-system sets. I like her size as well---with so many pin attackers under 5'9" here in Indiana, it's refreshing to have someone with decent size on the pin. Finally, Da'Jiane John would be committed already if she weren't 5'6". An absolute leaper out of the middle, Miss John hits a heavy ball and can thump from anywhere. She's currently in the middle, but I would LOVE to see her tee off from the left pin when given enough chance to maximize her jump----which is off the charts.
