One of the hardest National Qualifiers of the year is in full swing in Dallas, TX this weekend. Being held at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in downtown Dallas, this qualifier brings the best teams from all over the nation under one roof toward the end of the season. This article series will discuss some of the players and teams that we think will have a solid shot at earning a bid for the tourney.

This division looks like it is a warm up for the Open Division at Nationals as there are already 8 Open qualified teams that are entered into the tourney. As we stated in the first volume of this article series, at USA Volleyball qualifiers, the bids only trickle down to sixth place, so that will be tough for anyone who hasn't earned their spot yet. We also mentioned the following, “It gets really interesting at this time of year and the pressure is surely turned up a few notches. Final standings and head to head wins will come in handy as some bids will be reallocated to the Regions and handed out after the Regional tournament is over. Every win will mean that much more to those teams who have not qualified yet in order to have a legit chance to win a reallocated bid from USAV.” A lot of these teams have faced each other at Triple Crown or during previous National Qualifiers, so it will be a blood-fest all weekend long.

OK Charge 16 UA

Here are some teams that we think could be added to this list after the three day weekend in Dallas:

MadFrog 16 National Green is a squad who we know very well as we have written about them a few times this season. They have tons of ballers who can play at the highest level possible. [player_tooltip player_id='534328' first='Vanessa' last='Glenn'] is as solid as they come for a six-rotation left side. When you watch her play the game, you see that she is the glue that holds them together at times. There is not a skill on the court that she cannot excel at. The high-flying [player_tooltip player_id='762460' first='Gabriella' last='McHenry'] can make some trouble for anyone at the net. She has a very long reach and unless the opposing blocker times it perfectly, they will have a hard time slowing her down on the right side. She is an X-factor that could prove to be a big time weapon in tight games. Super lengthy middle [player_tooltip player_id='534326' first='Isabella' last='Howard'] does a solid job on both ends at the net as well. All-World outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='534291' first='Gentry' last='Barker'] will be ready for war as she always is. This team can be a menace for anyone in this field and we think they will show up ready starting on Friday.

Dallas Skyline 16 Royal Whit is ready and willing to show that they belong in the conversation also. Their defense is super solid with [player_tooltip player_id='412438' first='Dakota' last='Huynh'] patrolling the back row. She also helps their offense run smooth by passing nails to her setters. [player_tooltip player_id='534313' first='Grace' last='Pinegar'] and [player_tooltip player_id='433665' first='Ryan' last='Spencer'] are two elite scorers on the pins. One person who could be a big X-factor for this high-powered squad is right side [player_tooltip player_id='534309' first='Lucy' last='Holmes']. She has a cannon for an arm and unloads it with each swing. [player_tooltip player_id='413355' first='Camryn' last='Penn'] has been distributing the ball very well to everyone. The way she moves the ball around evenly will have opposing defenses guessing a lot. It will create a lot of splits in the block for sure.

Tribe 16 Elite Cardinal has some ballers that are coming off of a great showing in their last qualifier. Left side attacker [player_tooltip player_id='762542' first='Ella' last='Gravlee'] is one of the top attackers in the country and is very difficult to stop when she gets going. She can score from multiple locations on the court and they feed her often. Outside [player_tooltip player_id='764464' first='Bradee' last='Boyd'] can flat out ball as well. These two will have this team's offense flowing very well. They will need to be focused on by everyone who matches up with them. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='533519' first='Caitlin' last='Elizabeth Crino'] is ready to lead the charge as she distributes the ball for this awesome team.
