Teams Most Represented In 2028 Rankings

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The <a href="https://prepdig.com/michigan/rankings/2028-rankings/">Class of 2028 Rankings</a> were recently updated to include more prospects to watch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is a talented class that is already making waves around the country.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Some high school programs have a lot of talent coming from this class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here's a look at the five that have the most represented in our 2028 Watch List.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Ann Arbor Skyline</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A program that has had some great success in the past and produced one of Michigan's all-time great players has four players on our 2028 Watch List, with the positions being all around the floor. They feature OH <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='742034' first='Allie' last='Rothenberg']</strong>, RS <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='742036' first='Audrey' last='Walters']</strong>, S <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='765790' first='Piper' last='Ayotte'] </strong>and DS/L <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='765798' first='Allison' last='Lee']</strong>. This group is also scattered around the state when it comes to club play, so all are getting in their reps to be ready for this upcoming fall. Both Walters and Lee saw some varsity action in 2024. Lee played in nearly every set and was among the team leaders in digs and aces.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Dexter</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another program not far from Ann Arbor, Dexter has four players featured on our Watch List. They are OH <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='742035' first='Nevaeh' last='Streich']</strong>, S <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='579822' first='Addison' last='Dresch']</strong> and DS/L options <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='742556' first='Halle' last='Perkins'] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='745472' first='Cecelia' last='Patierno']</strong>. None have been able to see varsity action as of yet, but will certainly add depth to a program on the rise in Dexter. These four are getting their club coaching from Legacy and L2, respectively, and are working hard to add new tools to their game. Dresch is a setter that has been able to generate some buzz and could be a breakout candidate in this group.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Marian</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Marian has been on these lists for nearly every class, as they make sure to have a strong group available each year. In the 2028 class, the Mustangs have five players part of the Watch List. They are L <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='553151' first='Ashlyn' last='Pelon']</strong>, OH <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='569767' first='Quinn' last='Nelson']</strong>, MB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='569774' first='London' last='Gibson']</strong>, MB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='765792' first='Mia' last='Carroll']</strong> and L/DS <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='587015' first='Liliana' last='Klingensmith']</strong>. Pelon has already shown her potential, as she sported the libero jersey this fall for the Mustangs and led the team with 459 digs while helping Marian reach the D1 semifinals. She also recorded a team-high 73 aces. Gibson saw some limited time at the varsity level and shows a lot of explosiveness in the middle, while Nelson seems to be a very promising outside that stands 6'0”. Nelson is having a very strong club season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Mercy</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The rival to Marian isn't about to be outdone in this class, as the Marlins have four on our Watch List. They include OH <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='587002' first='Cydnee' last='Speights']</strong>, OH <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='765802' first='Anna' last='Naida']</strong>, S/RS <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='758301' first='Murphi' last='Gibson']</strong> and MB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='569766' first='McKenzie' last='Andrews']</strong>. Naida played a few sets for the Mercy varsity last fall, but all four will be looking to make an impact in 2025. Andrews is one of the top prospects in this class for sure. A 6'5” middle with good mobility puts her in an elite class already, but she's still making a lot of strides as a player during club seasons. Speights is a player with a lot of power at the net that also shows good competitive fire.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>South Lyon East</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Cougars have produced some impressive talent in recent years as they look to try to be one of the top programs in Michigan year after year. In the Class of 2028, four players are on our watch list, including S/RS <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='644142' first='Ava' last='Kiernan']</strong> and OHs <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='740623' first='Rilynn' last='Strain']</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='765775' first='Riley' last='Schroeder']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='587013' first='Leia' last='Lassan']</strong>. None were part of the varsity roster in 2024, but the team had an impactful senior class, so they should be getting a chance to step up next fall. Kiernan is definitely a prospect that has garnered some attention. The 6'1” combo player shows a lot of athleticism and a high court IQ.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
