Technical Texas Liberos at the Lone Star Classic

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The largest tournament in the club volleyball season in Texas, the Adidas Lone Star Classic will have its fourth and last week of action this weekend, in Dallas, with teams in the 15s, 16s and 17s age groups playing from Friday to Sunday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The event, which in 2025 celebrates its 38th anniversary, is the largest USA Volleyball National Qualifier held in the entire country, attracting teams from almost every other American state to compete at the <a href="http://www.dallasconventioncenter.com/">Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center</a>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The host state, Texas obviously gets to have a massive number of teams on the court, with clubs from all over the Lone Star State competing for the bids. The top prospects in the state will be in action this weekend and we're highlighting some players worth everyone's attention. She's been splitting her time with the team between libero and defensive specialist, but whatever her role is, she will bring a lot of defensive stability for the team. King is capable of covering a lot of ground in serve-receive and her deliveries are consistently accurate, keeping her team in system. A very technical player, she also stands out for her ability to keep the ball off the floor when playing defense, showing excellent ball control. An elite defender, she's very difficult to score against because of her outstanding ball control and her impressive quickness on the backcourt. Negron's superior technique allows her to remain precise even when she has to improvise or make reaction saves. She's an elite defensive player, who has outstanding reflexes and, because of that, manages to dig swings from the middle at an incredibly high rate. Nye-Colón's tremendous ball control allows her to be very productive and consistent with her actions on the backcourt when passing and playing defense. She moved to the club this season, coming from [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last=''], and gave a massive boost to their defensive system. She's extremely confident in her game on the backcourt and that shows with how much ground she covers in serve-receive. Vo is also very quick with her movement on the backcourt and often gets to balls most wouldn't expect her to when playing defense. The best libero in her age group in Texas, according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, she's a difference-maker on the backcourt and a key piece in her team's playing system. Hernandez's technical skills are second-to-none, but what sets her apart when working on the backcourt is her ability to read the game and react to it, which allows her to anticipate plays.
