Shoutout to the Class of 2027! 👏
You’ve put in the reps, made the sacrifices, and now you’re on the verge of something big—getting a shot to play at the next level! 🔥
June 15th is almost here, and if you’re hoping to be recruited by a NCAA Division I or II school, we’ve got some tips to help you get ready for this next step in your journey.
So…what’s the big deal about “June 15”❓
Starting on June 15th after an athlete’s sophomore year, DI & DII college coaches can…
- Initiate contact via phone calls, emails, texts, and direct messages.
- Offer Verbal scholarships
- Unofficial visits (paid for by the student-athlete) with recruiting conversations are permitted.
- Official visits (paid for by the school) can be scheduled for August 1 onward, but coaches may begin discussing plans now.
💡Strong, consistent communication after June 15 can lead to campus visit invitations and scholarship offers.
How to Prepare for June 15 (and Beyond)
✍️Update Sports Profiles
Keep all sports profiles up-to-date with your most current information. Things like class changes, new positions, new school/club teams, etc. Create or update your info on the following:
- Prepdig – create your free profile here
- University Athlete
- NCSA
- SportsRecruits
- Hudl
- and more…
📲Optimize Social Media Accounts
Make sure your Instagram, Twitter, and other social accounts reflect who you are as a student-athlete. Use the below template for Instagram and Twitter:

🎥 Highlight Reels
- Post your most recent highlight videos on social media and YouTube. Use apps like CapCut to easily create videos.
- Include key info on the video itself or in the caption/description: full name, jersey #, position, grad year
🗂️ Organize a College List
Sort your college options into three categories:
- Dream schools – High reach, but still possible
- Target schools – Strong fit, good chance of recruitment
- Safety schools – Confident you’ll get accepted and have an opportunity to play
🏐College Camps and Showcases
- Attend college camps at schools your interested in or college camps that include multiple college coaches in-person to boost exposure.
- Boost exposure by attending college showcases like our Prepdig Nevada Freshman Showcase or the Prepdig Nevada Stockup Showcase. Use code: Bryant-MillerDig2025 to save on your registration.
📋 Recruit Questionnaires
- Complete prospective student-athlete questionnaires found on the websites of schools you’re interested in. Example – UNLV recruit questionnaire
- This helps get you on the radar of coaches and recruiting coordinators
Research each program so you’re ready when a coach reaches out.
✉️ Contact College Coaches
Make your first impression count! Here’s what to include when reaching out to college coaches:
- Name, position, height, school, grad year, GPA, club team
- Highlight video + YouTube + sports profiles
- Awards + accomplishments
- A short paragraph about your volleyball journey & why you love their program
- Keep them updated with match schedules, new film, and standout performances!
❓ Have a List of Questions Ready for Calls and Visits with Coaches
Never say, “I don’t have any questions.” Show you’re engaged and interested in the program. Examples to consider:
- What does your scholarship package include?
- What does a typical week look like during the season and offseason?
- What’s the team culture like?
- How would you describe your coaching style?
- What are your team’s goals for the upcoming season?
- How often does the team travel for matches?
- What do you need from me moving forward (transcripts, film, visits)?
