Ivy League, Mid-Major, and Uncommitted Athletes Heading to UA

The Under Armour Next Camp in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, is more than just a showcase, it is a major accomplishment for volleyball players with the skill and determination to play at the next level. On May 23, 2025, top athletes from across the region will come together with a shared goal: to train, compete, and earn a coveted Golden Ticket to the UA All-America Volleyball Game in Florida.   While Power Five recruits often take center stage, this event also highlights an outstanding group of athletes whose journeys reflect the full landscape of collegiate volleyball. From Ivy League excellence to top academic mid-majors to uncommitted standouts, this group proves that talent cannot be confined to a single category. What they share is a relentless work ethic, strong character, and the hunger to make their mark.   I had the opportunity to connect with nine impressive athletes from this diverse and inspiring group. Each shared what they are most excited to showcase at camp, what the invitation means to them, and who they would bring along for the ride. They also created personal taglines to capture the spirit and energy they are bringing to the court.   Let's meet the competitors paving the way toward greatness.    <h3 class="wp-block-heading text-gray-700">"Built Different. Controlling the Pins."</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='466229' first='Masina' last='Ogbechie'], a right side from [program_tooltip program_id='510736' first='Sports' last='Academy'] SAxC 18 Premier and a Harvard University commit, is ready to showcase her tenacity, competitiveness, and drive to dominate at the net. She takes pride in her ability to shut down opposing pin hitters and is looking forward to doing just that against top talent at the UA Next Volleyball Camp.   For Masina, this invitation is more than just an achievement, it is a reflection of the hard work she has poured into becoming the player she is today. It serves as both a reminder of her progress and a motivator to keep pushing toward her full potential.   If she could bring someone to the camp, it would be her cousin, who is just beginning her journey in sports and is interested in volleyball. Masina hopes that seeing an event like this firsthand would inspire her to stay with the sport and discover her own love for the game. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     <h3 class="wp-block-heading text-gray-700">"Impossible is only possible once you stop believing"</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='469333' first='Gianna' last='Bogan'], an outside hitter from SynergyForce 17 National 1 and a UC Davis commit, is excited to showcase her leadership and dedication on the court at the UA Next Volleyball Camp. She values the opportunity to work alongside other talented athletes and is looking forward to building connections through competition, communication, and shared goals.   Being invited back to this camp for a third time is a meaningful honor for Gianna. She thrives in the high-energy atmosphere and loves competing in an environment where every player shares the same drive and competitive mindset. For her, it's more than just a camp, it's a space to grow, compete, and be surrounded by elite-level intensity.   If she could bring one teammate with her, it would be her longtime setter, [player_tooltip player_id='772589' first='Isabella' last='Rasi']. The two have built a strong connection through years of playing together, and Gianna knows that sharing this experience with her would make it even more memorable and fun. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     <h3 class="wp-block-heading text-gray-700">"Not gonna stop"</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='525323' first='Gentry' last='Oblad'], an outside hitter from Vegas Aces 17 Ren and a Grand Canyon University commit, is most excited to showcase her defensive abilities at the UA Next Volleyball Camp. Known for her offensive strength, she's looking forward to highlighting the back-row work she's been developing and competing at a high level with well-rounded play.   Being invited to this camp is a meaningful experience for Gentry. It gives her the chance to compete alongside many of the top athletes she usually faces in club tournaments. She's excited to step onto the court not just as a competitor, but as a teammate in an elite environment filled with shared talent and drive. Gentry admires Kahlia's work ethic and the growth she has made on defense, so much so that it frustrates opponents. She's focused on improving her serve with precision, developing consistent hand contact and full extension, which has resulted in more aces than ever before. On the attack, she's put in the work to become more explosive and better at adjusting to different sets, knowing that versatility is key for any successful outside hitter.   Being invited to the UA Next Volleyball Camp is a meaningful recognition for Casi. It reflects years of dedication and passion for the sport, and she is grateful for the opportunity to train, compete, and grow alongside other athletes who share her level of commitment. For her, it's not just about the competition, it's about the experience of learning from the best and being surrounded by that energy.   If she could bring one person to the camp, it would be her close friend and former teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='518098' first='Maddy' last='Kirmer']. The two played together on Tstreet 16-1 Katie, and Casi values the competitive drive and steady support Maddy brings to the court. From blocking and attacking to high-level competition, she's ready to take the court and prove herself among the best players in her class.   This camp holds special meaning for Sydney. It's something she has had her eyes on for a long time, and receiving the invitation is both an honor and a major milestone. She's beyond grateful for the opportunity and is looking forward to soaking in every moment of it, from learning and competing to growing alongside driven, like-minded athletes.   If she could bring one teammate, it would be her setter, [player_tooltip player_id='288679' first='Ava' last='McBride']. More than just skills, Lauren wants to show how her uplifting personality impacts those around her, bringing out the best in teammates and creating a positive, high-performing atmosphere on the court.   Being invited back to this camp is a special opportunity for Lauren. She had a great experience last year and is excited to return to a space filled with athletes who share her drive for high-level play. For her, this camp isn't just about competition, it's about connection. It brings together players with similar mindsets and raises the level of the entire volleyball community. Lauren had the chance to play alongside Ella last year and admires her in every aspect of the game. Samantha values the way Kat elevates her performance with their on-court connection, and she appreciates the energy and encouragement Kat brings to every match.
