SCVA 15U Gems You Should Know

Our coverage goes beyond just the Open division because we know college-ready talent can come from any court. This month, we turned our attention to the top 15U Division II teams competing at Pearce Sports Center in San Bernardino.   Several athletes stood out with impressive performances, catching our eye with their skill, hustle, and potential. These are the players who earned a spot in my notes, and now, a spotlight, so college coaches can get to know a new wave of talent.    [player_tooltip player_id='776566' first='Lillian' last='Heath'] is a middle who makes smart choices, especially when the ball isn't perfectly set. She places her tips with intention and has solid timing when blocking. She stays involved in the rally, and there's a steadiness to her that stood out over the course of the day. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     Emily Hayes | Middle Blocker | BVC 15-Judy Emily does a great job owning the middle. She's always alert, ready to make a move, and keeps her hands strong and pressed on the block. What really stood out was her coverage. She stays active after the block and finds a way to keep the ball in play, which isn't something you always see from a middle. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     [player_tooltip player_id='776744' first='Sofia' last='Ervin']'s swing speed grabs your attention right away. The ball jumps off her hand, and she gets good topspin whether she's going down the line or hitting a hard angle. She brings good power, but what stood out most was how she adjusted mid-rally. She doesn't just hit to hit. She looks for ways to score and is confident taking her swings down the line. There's a competitiveness to her game that makes her fun to watch on the right side. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247    <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Frankie Callaway | Outside Hitter | City 15 Gold</h3>   Frankie is a consistent presence on the outside and continues to show growth in her shot selection. She knows when to take a big swing, when to tip, and when to go with something off-speed. She plays with a quiet confidence and finds ways to score without forcing it. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Annabel Wilson | Outside Hitter | WAVE 15 Dave</h3>   Annabel plays a steady game on the outside and gives her team a lot from the service line. She stays composed and plays to her strengths.
