Do you want to be seen? Do you want to be the next one announcing your college plans? Join us at Prep Dig this summer. Get your name out there and ball out with some of the best in the country. Be sure to use the code LShotDig2025 to get $$ off at registrations!

–

Get you a player that can do it all! That is quite frankly what these student athletes embody. Throw them on the volleyball court, throw them out on the basketball court, it doesn't matter. In this case, get them in the starting line on the track. They're about to smoke you (And definitely out jump)!

This weekend is a big weekend for several of our volleyball dual sport athletes, as it is time to qualify for the State Finals! One weekend, one meet, it's all for the marbles. All for a ticket to Grand Rapids.

Some of the best in our game are also top notch on the track. Many are looking to punch their ticket to the State Finals in June and here's a few in the running.

*Note - Athletes can qualify for the State Finals in several ways. The most definitive being an earned Early Qualifier mark throughout the season. At the regional meets, they must place top 2 in their respective event or hit a particular Additional Qualifying mark.*

[player_tooltip player_id='569773' first='Skylar' last='Ignash'] - Cass City

Just a wee freshman, [player_tooltip player_id='569773' first='Skylar' last='Ignash'] has really bursted onto the scene in her rookie year. Not only has she shown the potential on the volleyball court, but she's becoming a premier star on the track. And seemingly, Ignash has gotten better and better with her sports as the year has gone on.

The young Ignash enters the Friday Division 3 Regional with some of the top times and jumps in the field. She currently ranks fourth in both the 100m and 400m Dash. With times of 13.32 and 1:04 respectively, she'll need a jump of .2 and 2 seconds in each event to nab the AQ. If it's not on the track, Ignash could very well find herself in the State Finals on the field. In both High Jump and Long Jump, Ignash is an event leader with bests of 5'1 and 16'00 in these events. Both rank her in a top two finish, as well as additional qualifying marks.

[player_tooltip player_id='442977' first='Demi' last='McCoy']

[player_tooltip player_id='442977' first='Demi' last='McCoy'] - Detroit Country Day

She's one of the most entertaining players to watch on the courts, but she is also one of the most entertaining runners to see step on the track. [player_tooltip player_id='442977' first='Demi' last='McCoy'] has really come into her own this track season and is looking to continue on her state qualifying ways from a season ago.

This weekend, McCoy is loaded up in the sprints department and has herself right within reach of a bid to Hamilton. She is currently ranked top five in both the 100m and 200m sprints. In both events, her best times have her just outside of an additional qualifying mark. For the 4x100 and 4x200 relays, McCoy and company rank at third and second respectively.

[player_tooltip player_id='450415' first='Leah' last='Green'] - Detroit Country Day

Right alongside [player_tooltip player_id='442977' first='Demi' last='McCoy'], [player_tooltip player_id='450415' first='Leah' last='Green'] is looking to continue on her winning ways this sophomore season with DCD. Entering the regional meet, Green is loaded up as one of the top ranked runners in the field. With McCoy, Green is on those highly touted 4x100m and 4x200m relays. She also has proven herself to be quite the commodity in the hurdles and jumps department as well.

Outside of the relay races, Green is looking to have a dominate outing for the Yellowjackets. She ranks first in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.74 s and she ranks second and third in the jumps with 5'3 and 16'5" marks respectively. In both the hurdles and high jump, Green has already cemented her spot in the state finals in June. If she can hit her PR in the Long Jump, or place top two, she'll see herself in the sand pits as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] - North Branch

Get you an athlete that can TRULY do it all. [player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] has been making quite the noise this track season with her throwing abilities. It's to no surprise to anyone she is having success there, have you seen her hit?! But Deshetsky also has herself poised to qualify in the high jump and the 4x100m relay.

In the Shot Put and Discus, Deshetsky currently finds herself ranked atop the standings in both events going into the weekend. Not only that, but she is currently ranked top five amongst Division II and has already secured her ticket to the Finals. She also finds herself in a great position to go four for four in her events this weekend. Her 4x100 team currently sits at second and Aubree currently sits tied for third in the High Jump ranks. She needs to either place top two or PR by JUST an inch to make qualifying marks.

[player_tooltip player_id='493481' first='Camille' last='Robinson']

[player_tooltip player_id='493481' first='Camille' last='Robinson'] - Harper Creek

When you see this girl take action on the court, you really get a sense of how explosive she is. Then you see her take to the track and really begin to value her versatility and quick twitched nature. [player_tooltip player_id='493481' first='Camille' last='Robinson'] is really becoming one of the premier athletes of the 2027 class.

On the track side of things, Robinson is an intense sprinter. In her region, she currently ranks top two in all four of her events, three of them being relays! With top notch performances, Robinson is well within reach of being a 4x state qualifier after this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='472798' first='Cassidy' last='Pratley'] - Harper Creek

From Miss Volleyball to one of the biggest names on the track, and every other sport in between. There is simply not much that [player_tooltip player_id='472798' first='Cassidy' last='Pratley'] cannot do. And cannot do at a HIGH level.

Alongside Robinson, Pratley is featured in two of those three relays. Which, as many know, when you get a Pratley and Robinson team-up, there is danger afoot! Individually though, Pratley is one of the highest flyers in the high jump event... Go figure! In her region, she is ranked third in a HOTLY contested field. She has a PR of 5'4 which not only has her with an EQ but also ranks her top ten in the state!

[player_tooltip player_id='644173' first='Brooklyn' last='Beardsley'] - Lake Fenton

Is it to anybody's surprise that this freshman is flying off of the track the same way she jumps off the court? [player_tooltip player_id='644173' first='Brooklyn' last='Beardsley'] has been really coming into her own in not only her volleyball skills but her high jumping as a well.

Entering the weekend, the freshman phenom currently ranks atop the standings in her Regional with a jump of 5'3. This mark has her sitting within the top ten of Division II and her ticket secured to the State Finals in June.

[player_tooltip player_id='226900' first='Liv' last='Hosford'] - Rockford

This school year has been nothing short of a banner year for [player_tooltip player_id='226900' first='Liv' last='Hosford']. After an electric fall, leading her team to a Division 1 State Championship appearance. Hosford was named to the MIVCA All-State list. She might be finding herself with more All-State honors here in the next few weeks.

As strong as she is on the volleyball courts, it is to no surprise that this athlete is chucking the Shot Put and Discus as well as she does. Hosford enters the regional meet ranked second in both events with throws of 40' 10" and 136' 8" respectively. These throws not only have her ranked Top 5 in Division I, but also has her place in the finals cemented as Early Qualifier marks! Hosford will not only look to better her marks this weekend, but help secure Rockford ANOTHER Regional Title.

[player_tooltip player_id='523863' first='Willow' last='Mason']

[player_tooltip player_id='523863' first='Willow' last='Mason'] - Saginaw Heritage

It's somewhat of a surprise to not see this player as one of the top jumpers in the state of Michigan. For the incredible hops that she has on the courts, [player_tooltip player_id='523863' first='Willow' last='Mason'] turns that fast twitched nature into sonic speed times in the sprints! Mason was one of the top rookies on the track last spring and has now solidified herself as one of the best in the state!

Much like Hosford in the throws, without this weekend, [player_tooltip player_id='523863' first='Willow' last='Mason'] will have had already secured her spot in the Division 1 Finals. She'll be heading to the East Kentwood hosted Finals in not one, not two, but already three events! Mason has acquired Early Qualifying marks in the 100m, 200m and 4x200m relay. With times of 12.13, 24.74 and 1:40.73, all three of these marks rank top ten in Division 1. Mason will look to go four for four in Friday's regional as she has the top 400m time and second best 4x400m relay time as well!

[player_tooltip player_id='595372' first='Sydney' last='Kuhn'] - Saginaw Swan Valley

[player_tooltip player_id='595372' first='Sydney' last='Kuhn'] may be one of the most dominating track stars in the state right now. The University of Michigan bound track star could have her way of the track in just about any event.

Going into the regional meet, Kuhn is ranked 1st in not one, not two, not..., but SIX EVENTS! Crushing times from 100m dash to the 800m run, she also has the top time in the 300m hurdles as well! She's found herself with a EQ in four events already, the 100m, 200m, 400m and 300m hurdles. Kuhn is currently entered in the latter 3 events and will take part in the 4x400m relay, which she is, again, ranked 1st in.

[player_tooltip player_id='569772' first='Lauren' last='Sheldon'] - Stoney Creek

Only a freshman and [player_tooltip player_id='569772' first='Lauren' last='Sheldon'] is one of the top jumpers in the state of Michigan! To nobody's surprise though, the way Sheldon explodes off of the volleyball court is something unlike any other.

Going into this weekend's regional meet, Sheldon currently ranks top 2 in Division 1 with a best of 5'6 in High Jump. This marks her as the highest jumping freshman in the entire state and a regional leading jump.

[player_tooltip player_id='523871' first='Tessa' last='White'] - Livonia Franklin

Right behind Sheldon, [player_tooltip player_id='523871' first='Tessa' last='White'] is another no brainer. White has been coming into her own on the volleyball court. As an undersized, high flying attacker, her vertical has continually improved over the last year or so. From the court to the field, White is getting UP!

From her freshman to sophomore year, White has elevated her game. In the track world, she was a promising jumper that averaged a jump of 4'8. In a season best performance, White just narrowly missed out on grabbing an AQ at last year's regional meet. This year, White has consistently cleared the 5'0 mark and has event had a best jump of 5'5, a jump that clears her as a fifth best in the Division. This jump was exactly what she needed to grab an EQ!

[player_tooltip player_id='156337' first='Layla' last='Visser'] - Rockford

After struggling with injuries throughout the mid chunk of her prep career, [player_tooltip player_id='156337' first='Layla' last='Visser'] has managed to overcome those obstacles and finds herself having one heck of a senior year. Alongside Hosford, Visser was a part of that State Championship appearing team on the volleyball courts. With Hosford again, Visser will look to help Rockford to a state title. While Hosford has her hands on the throws, Visser is elevating the game in the jumps department.

Alongside [player_tooltip player_id='523871' first='Tessa' last='White'], the two are currently tied in the standings, both with a best jump of 5'5. Visser got her EQ back in April and will be heading to the Finals, however, we'll see how much higher this leaper can go.

[player_tooltip player_id='478074' first='Sarah' last='Pippin'] - Edwardsburg

I have been saying for quite some time that [player_tooltip player_id='478074' first='Sarah' last='Pippin'] may be the steal of the 2026 class out of Michigan. If you look at her and how she plays on the volleyball court, that says a whole lot right there. But then when you see her jump on the track, you see things a lot differently.

Currently, Pippin not only stands as the Regional leader in High Jump, but she leads the entire Division in long jump with an insane leap of 5'7! You read that right, and it is not a fluke! Her PR comes just a week prior to writing this and marks her third time this season clearing 5'5 and up. This jump has her ranked second amongst all divisions in Michigan.
