The 2025 DMV Stock Up Showcase was a large success with over 60 athletes attending to show off their hustle, grit, leadership and talent today. With such a great turnout, picking just one out of the crowd was a monumental task, but one that needed to be done. After sifting through gameplay, and drills, it became obvious that it was going to be tough to focus enough on one player that stood out for leadership and effort, beyond talent, but eventually, a clear picture emerged, one of Holy Cross class of 2028 and Maryland Juniors 14 Elite Black, Emme Wolfe.

Emme is a bit of a celebrity here in Maryland volleyball. One of the top talents for years already, she was one of the top Freshman in the DMV area this year, and led her club to a top 3 finish at Nationals last summer. There aren't many people in the volleyball community here that don't know who she is, as she leaves quite the impression when you see her play. She is one of those players that you see and have a hard time imagining her full potential because it seems never ending, every time you see her, she's gotten better, as her work ethic is one that's unheard of in kids her age. Multiple practices per week, tournaments, games, private lessons, open gym, or her own court at home, she is constantly working and improving some aspect of her game, she's got a drive that most college and professional players would love to have.

Strong competition has never been an issue for Emme. Playing in a very competitive WCAC conference at Holy Cross, where they went undefeated in league play last season, and having to face tough competition and future D1 players quite often. During club season, they have been playing in tough qualifiers such as Big South, Sunshine, Show Me, and NEQ, and running into top teams such as A5 and OTV quite often. She is the player that her teammates look to when they need a big play or need an answer, and she's happy to be the leader that they need, always knowing what needs to be done, and making it happen.

While she will stand out with her fierce, accurate hitting, I was reminded at this showcase how versatile she is as well, watching her play solid defense both at the net and in serve receive, make accurate passes, get on the floor for digs, and even set a couple very pretty balls, she is easily an all-around 6 player. You'll often hear her on the court moving her players into position, communicating, and taking charge like a true floor general. Watching her play I can't help but feel like she has that "Mamba Mentality" that Kobe Bryant made so famous, always wanting to be the best, and willing to put in however much work that takes. She is one of those players that isn't just going to be good, she's going to be a superstar, and in a few years when we are watching her on TV, we'll remember her fondly from when we got to see her in a small gym every week.

Emme is on the road to AAU, and then off to Dallas for USAV to round out their season, where they look to improve on a 3rd place finish last year and take home the crown.
