Washburn University hosted a summer tournament on June 20.

I scouted three matches in Pool C play, which took place in the Whiting Fieldhouse.

The first match that I scouted was Beloit I against Seaman II.

Here is the first of two reports to be published today. Stay posted for more coverage to follow on Saturday and Sunday.

The four athletes had impressive performances in the Trojans' two-set victory over the Vikings.

[player_tooltip player_id='553835' first='Brecken' last='Boudreaux'], 5'9”, MB/RS, Beloit, '26 (Pictured Above On Right)

Boudreaux never seems to disappoint me when I scout Beloit. She finished with a team-high seven kills in the Trojans' win. She is light on her feet and can sky with the best in her 2026 class. She also tallied six serve receptions, three digs, and one ace. She is ranked No. 19 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='222105' first='Dakota' last='Gray'], 5'11”, MB, Beloit, '26

Gray's game still sneaks up on me. She is a physical middle who recorded six kills and two blocks for Beloit. She is ranked No. 149 overall in the state and would be ranked higher, but it appears track and field will be her college sport of choice. She runs hurdles and has an official visit scheduled with a Division I program.

[player_tooltip player_id='785346' first='Colbi' last='Stroede'], 5'5”, S, Beloit, '26

Beloit graduated its top setter from last season's squad, so the job of setter appears to be in the hands of Strobe. She recorded 14 assists in the match and shared time setting, so Beloit could use two setters or go with one. They have a ton of roster flexibility heading into the 2025 season. Strode is unranked, but she will be added to the rankings before the season starts.

[player_tooltip player_id='785347' first='Lundyn' last='Knight'], 5'7”, DS/L, Beloit, '26

Knight was an athlete I was not familiar with heading into the tournament. She missed last season with a lower-body injury, and the Trojans had a college talent libero playing the position. She seemed fully recovered from her injury and I was surprised by her quickness. She collected 12 serve receptions, four digs, and four aces. She has a hard and accurate serve that can score points. Like Strode, she is unranked but will be added to the rankings.
