Washburn hosted the second day of the MOKAN Tournament on June 21.

I went over and scouted one match before taking my wife out for a Saturday lunch.

I scouted the Spearville and Chaparral match, opening their respective days in Pool Play. It was the first time I had ever seen a Spearville match, and I was surprised by the team's size. The Lancers took both sets against the Roadrunners.

Here is a look at four prospects who had solid matches.

[player_tooltip player_id='785562' first='Makiah' last='Kliesen'], 6'0”, MB/OH, Spearville, '26

Kliesen dominated the net in the match against Chaparral. She recorded a match-eight kills while adding two blocks. She is a physical athlete with a big reach. I was impressed with her defensive skills for such a tall talent. She if a multiple-sport athlete. If I were a JUCO coach in Western Kansas, I would give her a holler.

[player_tooltip player_id='785567' first='Cheyenne' last='Ackerman'], 5'6”, S, Spearville '26

The quickest athlete and the best jumper on the Spearville squad is Ackerman. She sets for the Lancers, but she can elevate and is a solid blocking partner for Kliesen. She tallied seven assists, three digs, and three blocks in the win over the Roadrunners. She also is a multiple-sport athlete and is interested in playing college volleyball. She also stated she would play for a JUCO program. I would recommend her to all of the Jayhawk Conference coaches who follow Prep Dig.

[player_tooltip player_id='785569' first='Bailey' last='Correll'], 5'10”, OH, Spearville, '27

Correll is a talented junior, whose game stood out. She registered three digs, one kill, and three serve receptions. She can play six rotations and is another multi-sport athlete for Spearville. A Prep Dig profile has been created for her, and she will be added to the Class of 2027 rankings during the next update.

Makenize Preisner, 5'11”, OH/RS, Spearville, '26

Preisner would be a solid project for an in-state NAIA program. She has size, and she surprised me with her defensive skills. She is a player who could be brought in as a JV player and then could evolve into an all-conference athlete by her junior and senior seasons.
