Northern Michigan has a healthy amount of 2027 prospects that have already made a big impact at the varsity level and are looking like they can emerge as some of the best in the state for the class.

Here's seven 2027 talents that have caught our attention.

[player_tooltip player_id='516948' first='Lola' last='Brown'], MB TC St. Francis/Northshore

This 6'2” middle had a strong prep season for St. Francis, helping the Gladiators get to the D3 final for the second year in a row. Brown brings disruptive length to the net. She covers a lot of space that makes it challenging for opposing hitters. As an attacker, Brown can get over the top of the ball to deliver punishing attacks, but still has a lot of room to grow in terms of footwork and tempo. That makes her a prospect on the watch for sure.

Madelynn Cameron, MH Alpena

Cameron is a promising middle that continues to make big strides in her game year over year. She has a long reach that allows her to play well above the net and be very disruptive on both sides. She's been able to show quicker reaction time over the last year, and improved movement side to side. If that continues, Cameron has a bright future.

[player_tooltip player_id='586777' first='Nemiah' last='Carper'], MB/OH Roscommon

Carper is a hitter that should be on every college's radar. She's got all of the tools you look for in an explosive outside, that can also play the middle. She's got length, she's got reach, and she's got explosiveness. She's able to uncork on the ball for devastating kills, while also being a vicious blocker. Her footwork and awareness are already at a high level, so she's poised for some monster seasons ahead.

[player_tooltip player_id='454377' first='Erica' last='Heffner'], OH TC Central/Northshore

Heffner is an outside hitter that brings a great all-around game to the floor, and you don't have to question her intensity and drive. She can finish on either end of the net, has great lift off the floor, and has a really smooth swing that never seems to tire as matches get in the later stages. Heffner can play fast, but yet isn't rushed on the court. She stays within herself to make a good play more times than not.

[player_tooltip player_id='490037' first='Hadley' last='Humphrey'], S TC Central/Northshore

Humphrey looks very comfortable in a leadership role despite being a sophomore. She brings the best out of her hitters and is an energy player that her teammates feed off of. Humphrey continues to find new ways to dial up her pace and mix up her locations to remain unpredictable. Over the next two years, Humphrey should become one of the top setters in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='779820' first='Jenna' last='Middleton'], OH Kingsley/Vital

Middleton is an outside hitter that has been able to help her teams in all phases of the game. She's got a polished defensive background and has proven she can make all the shots offensively. Her back-row attack looks strong and at the net, the ball really flies off her hand. Middleton isn't afraid to attack tight spaces and the boundary lines, either.

[player_tooltip player_id='512395' first='Olivia' last='Strehl'], OH TC Christian/Northshore

Strehl was a big offensive factor for TC Christian as a sophomore and she looked very comfortable in a lead role. Strehl plays with a lot of composure and has active eyes to find the openings in the defense. She doesn't attack the same spot twice and can play on either pin, which makes her a great offensive asset. Strehl also shows promising defensive skills.
