Athletes from five different states will gather in Southeast Kansas tomorrow for the first of two Elite Camps to be hosted by new Pitt State Head Coach Megan Besecker.

I already have my alarm clock set and my Mall Deli order in my head, as I will head to my alma mater tomorrow to scout the event.

Athletes from Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, Arkansas, and Kansas have preregistered for the camp.

The bulk of the athletes are from Kansas schools, and the majority of those are in the Prep Dig rankings.

Here is a quick look at five ranked athletes who are expected to attend. They are athletes I have not featured recently and whom I look forward to catching up with.

[player_tooltip player_id='489775' first='Brynna' last='Zoeller'], 5'11”, S, Rock Creek, '26

One of the highest-ranked players scheduled to be at Pitt State is the Rock Creek setter. She is ranked No. 14 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026 and is the third-ranked setter. She racked up an eye-popping total of 1040 assists in 96 sets played during her junior season. It will be a busy week for Zoeller, who will compete at PSU before playing with her Mustang teammates at the MOKAN Tournament at Washburn University on June 21.

[player_tooltip player_id='523690' first='Maddie' last='Coester'], 5'10”, OH, Girard, '26

While I am familiar with her numbers, I have yet to see Coester compete in person. She is ranked No. 27 overall by Prep Dig in the Kansas Class of 2026. She is also ranked No. 44 in her class by Prep Girls Hoops. She is a blocking machine. Southeast Kansas schools will be well represented at the event, and Coester could very well be the cream of the southeast Kansas contingent.

[player_tooltip player_id='731039' first='Georgia' last='Rogers'], 5'6”, S, Basehor Linwood, '26

There are a handful of setters registered for this event, including the Bobcats' Rogers. She is ranked No. 248 in the Kansas Class of 2026. She has recorded back-to-back seasons of at least 400 assists. During her junior season, she collected 463 assists in 80 sets. She also registered 142 digs last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='586626' first='Addison' last='Davee'], 6'4”, MB, Maize South, '27

Davee is ranked No. 133 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027 rankings. She is a two-sport prospect in volleyball and basketball. She is currently ranked No. 31 overall by Prep Girls Hoops. She finished with 101 kills last season for the Mavericks. Maize South won a summer tournament this weekend. I look forward to seeing Davee compete. She will be one of the tallest athletes at the camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='530004' first='Gentry' last='Coons'], 5'5”, DS/L, Washburn Rural, '28

Coons plays in my back yard, but I have not recently seen her compete. Prep Dig Kansas has her ranked No. 42 in the Class of 2028. She has quick feet and communicates well with teammates. This camp will be a great event for her to step up and show off her skills against elite athletes.
