Over 70 players attended this event. Eleven players were returning top performers while 14 were named top performers. While that takes care of 25 players there were still a number of players who stood out at the event or should be highlighted. Below are some of those players.

Defensive Specialist/Liberos

[player_tooltip player_id='477435' first='Jaida' last='Mostafa']

[player_tooltip player_id='783936' first='Reagan' last='Vaughn'] (Bishop McNamara/ 2026) - She brings quickness and athleticism to the back row. For the Mustangs she finished second on the team in digs. It appears she forms her platform a little too early prior to making a dig. Reagan will continue her play for MOJO Pink in the Classic Division at AAUs.

[player_tooltip player_id='568220' first='Madalyn' last='Norgart'] (Gainesville/Virginia Elite 2027) - She did not get a lot of playing time for Virginia Elite in the matches I watched with [player_tooltip player_id='520868' first='Caroline' last='Semko'] primarily playing libero. At the Stock up Madalyn showed a good platform for passing. She also hustled on the court making some nice digs. Virginia Elite will play in the Open in AAUs down in Orlando.

[player_tooltip player_id='477435' first='Jaida' last='Mostafa'] (Holton Arm/Metro 2027) - Love her intensity in the back row. Her quick feet allow her to react to the ball on defense as well as center the ball when passing. Jaida plays for Metro Central, who will compete in AAUs in the Aspire Division. She ranks number 109 in our class of 2027.

[player_tooltip player_id='602392' first='Elise' last='Nair'] (Colgan/[program_tooltip program_id='489547' first='540' last='Volleyball Academy'] 2028) - Another player who slots in our rankings at number 58 in the class of 2028. She received minimal playing time in the back row as a frosh for Colgan. After watching her at the stock up and for Club 540 this playing time should increase this coming season. She exhibits good reactions and quickness on defense. She certainly carries the drive to succeed. 540 will play in AAUs in Orlando competing in the Elite Division.

[player_tooltip player_id='730577' first='Anna' last='Hudson'] (Bishop Ireton/MOJO 2028) - I usually give respect to those girls who come up to me after a tryout or showcase to sincerely ask what they need to work on in their game. Anna plays for the MOJO Pink team who will play in AAUs in the Classic Division. She did make the varsity at Ireton as a frosh but her playing time was limited. Next year expect a busier season.

Setters

[player_tooltip player_id='627365' first='Alexa' last='Eggleton']

[player_tooltip player_id='552700' first='Maya' last='Downs'] (Washington Liberty/[program_tooltip program_id='511606' first='Vienna' last='Elite'] 2027) - Maya brings a lot of enthusiasm to the court. She loves to play the game, interacting with her teammates well. Her setting needs a little more consistency in location to reach the top tier of setters but she works hard to achieve that. In our class of 2027 she sits at 136 in our rankings. For Washington Liberty this will be a critical year for her.

[player_tooltip player_id='749757' first='Dakota' last='Pentorn'] (Annapolis Area Christian/Maryland Juniors 2027) - Her older sister Daisy did a good job setting for Arundel, finishing her career ranked at number 79 in our class of 2025. She committed to Virginia State. Dakota has just begun her journey. She brings the nice hands of her sister Daisy but she will set for Annapolis Area Christian School. Her 5'6" height may restrict her to back row. Maryland Juniors 15 will compete in the American Division when they travel to Dallas to compete in the AAUs.

[player_tooltip player_id='731013' first='Ella' last='Strain'] (Crofton/Maryland Juniors 2027) - Ella started her career as a libero but has transformed into a setter because of her soft hands. Her 5'3" height may still restrict her to back row play but the experience will add to her versatility. She set for Crofton which lost in the quarter finals to Broadneck in the Maryland Class 4 state championships. A good player to know since her father writes an occasional article for Prep Dig. Now I know where he gets his information from.

[player_tooltip player_id='627365' first='Alexa' last='Eggleton'] (Forest Park/[program_tooltip program_id='489547' first='540' last='Volleyball Academy'] 2028) - Her sister [player_tooltip player_id='609590' first='Leah' last='Eggleton'] made top performer when she buried a couple balls to the floor. Alexa pushed out a couple nice jump sets to the outside and the thought entered my mind to identify her as a top performer. The two hour window passed while the thought failed to take action. She currently ranks number 83 in our class of 2028. The Leah and Alexa combo will attempt to wrest the continual Cardinal Divisional championship trophy away from Colgan. The duo will also play in Orlando for 540 Elite in the AAU Elite Division.

Left Sides

[player_tooltip player_id='731010' first='Raylin' last='Horst']

[player_tooltip player_id='754931' first='Abigail' last='Hegg'] (Oakton/[program_tooltip program_id='494491' first='DMV' last='Elite'] 2026) - Abigal brings some good tools to the court. Her passing and defense appear strong, which would allow her to play six rotations. She can also hit the ball with some velocity from the outside. At 5'8" her blocking could be limited in the front row against some of the more elite teams. [program_tooltip program_id='494491' first='DMV' last='Elite'] will play in AAUs in Florida in the Premiere Division.

[player_tooltip player_id='731010' first='Raylin' last='Horst'] (Governor Thomas Johnson/Metro North 2027) - Raylin brings a quick arm swing that puts some good velocity on the ball. She also has the ability to play six rotations with her defense and passing. Like Abigail above, her 5'8" height could create difficulties with blocking against the elite teams. Metro North will play in AAUs in the Aspire Division.

[player_tooltip player_id='537906' first='Jalyn' last='Barnes'] (Colonial Forge /[program_tooltip program_id='489547' first='540' last='Volleyball Academy'] 2027) -Jalyn impressed me with her play at the East Coast championship. She hits the ball hard and plays six rotations. Unfortunately, in the short two hour window she failed to do anything that made me take notice. She ranks number 140 in our class of 2027. While she brings a good vertical to the court her 5'8" height could create front row blocking problems similar to the other players mentioned above. Jaylin will play in AAUs in the Elite Division.

[player_tooltip player_id='623088' first='Irina' last='Padden'] ((Freedom/Libero 2028) - Irina is another one of those players who failed to capture my attention on the court at the Stock Up. However, I have seen her play on the court, and she does bring the skills to make an impact. At 5'5" her front row time may be limited without future growth. The Libero Huskies will play in the Open Division at the AAUs in Orlando. This will test Irina with her front row play.

Middle

[player_tooltip player_id='518008' first='Aubrey' last='Wade']

[player_tooltip player_id='518008' first='Aubrey' last='Wade'] (Holy Cross/MVSA 2028) - She listed herself as a middle but she can play any position in the front row, whether right side or left. I did not get to see any back row play but it would not surprise me that she can play six rotations. Currently listed at 5'10" but it would not surprise me to see more growth. Holy Cross lost a lot in the middle last year so Aubrey could make an impact on the varsity for this high school season. She plays for MVSA Wild, which is the second team for MVSA.

[program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] 18 Finishes Fifth in Orlando Premier Division

[program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] worked their way into the Gold Bracket of the Premier Division in Orlando. They may have had the wind knocked out of them after the first match when they beat Maunaiani in a three set thriller, taking the third set 16-14. Their next match came against Sanford Sports who earned a bye. Sanford Sports swept [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] 25-20, 25-19. [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] had beaten Sanford Sports two days earlier, although the match took three sets.

A nice finish for a good group of girls from the class of 2025, Berkley Konrady (William and Mary), Ada McCoy (Shepherd), Emma White (North Alabama), Ava Dickerson (Wheeling Jesuit) and Samantha Stephens (IU Pennsylvania) all finished ranked in the top 50 of the class of 2025. All will continue their playing while in college.
