Caroline Semko Caroline Semko 5'7" | DS/L Bishop O'Connell | 2027 State VA brushed up on her libero skills this season with Virginia Elite. She is the favorite to play that position for Bishop O’Connell this year. Last year at Flint Hill she was forced to play right side because of a shortage of pin hitters. She did not receive a lot of sets hitting right side.

With her libero play at Virginia Elite Caroline bumped up in the rankings from 127 to 109. At an August showcase she made an impression with a dolphin dive when hitting the floor and strong hands for taking the serve. If she wins the libero position at Bishop O’Connell the ranking could rise again.

The best position for Caroline Semko Caroline Semko 5'7" | DS/L Bishop O'Connell | 2027 State VA is libero. For Flint Hill they were short of pins so they used her at outside. Because of her ability to play back row she normally played six rotations.

For Virginia Elite they used her at the libero position. She showed the skills to play there, although the passing needs more consistency. The quickness exists to make the spectacular defensive play. She led her team to a fifth place finish in the 16 Open at Capitol Hill Classic.

Next year she should return to the libero/defensive specialist position.
