The calendar is about to flip from June to July.

It's been a busy month of scouting, and even though I am 300-plus pounds I have some serious ninja skills and can sneak in and out of local events.

"You Can't See Me!"

College camps and summer team tournaments kept me busy in June, but I still can't see or feature every athlete I would like to.

Here is a look at five athletes who were at events I scouted this month, but were not featured immediately after the event.

I see you, event when I don't.

[player_tooltip player_id='523690' first='Maddie' last='Coester'], OH, 5'10”, Girard, ‘26

Girard's Coester participated in the Pittsburg State Elite Camp, but was not featured afterward. She competed on the main court with mostly 2026 talent the Pitt State coaching staff was closely watching. Coester did more than hang with the elite group and she stood out with a solid hitting day. I was impressed with how she balanced being focused in her game, but also enjoyed the moment networking with other athletes. She is ranked No. 27 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027.

[player_tooltip player_id='731872' first='Mia' last='Vermetten'], MB/OH, 5'9”, Valley Heights, ‘26

Vermetten and the Mustangs competed in the MOKAN tournament at Washburn University, but were a team I missed seeing. She is ranked No. 93 overall by Prep Dig Kansas. She finished second last season in kills for the Mustangs with 256. The Mustangs will return three athletes from last season's team with at least 100 kills. Vermetten and Valley Heights will have large postseason aspirations.

[player_tooltip player_id='357548' first='Reese' last='Huscher'], OH, 5'8”, Hayden, ‘26

Hayden competed in the Kansas Klassic at Seaman in June. Fair or unfair, Huscher does not get a ton of love on Prep Dig as she is a multi-sport athlete who is verbally committed to playing soccer at Washburn University. She is still a solid volleyball player and is the veteran mentor on a Wildcat team stacked with young talent. Huscher can play six rotations and when she has a calming influence for the Wildcats during high-stress rallies.

[player_tooltip player_id='659553' first='Savannah' last='Jackson'], S, 5'7”, Jefferson West, ‘27

Jackson is a talented athlete who often gets overlooked at Jeff West. The Tigers have a talented collection of tall hitters, and a top-ranked setter, but Jackson can play. I scouted Jeff West at the Seaman tournament. Jackson shares setting duties, and very rarely plays an entire match, but she could easily be a starting setter at another high school. She has a nice serve and is a great “team player.” She is quick and can help a team as a utility athlete as well. I would not hesitate to recommend her to NAIA and JUCO coaches who follow me closely. She is ranked No. 74 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027.

[player_tooltip player_id='525466' first='Kylie' last='Hanni'], S, 5'3”, Silver Lake, ‘27

Another team that competed in the Seaman Tournament and at the MOKAN event was Silver Lake. I always have tough decisions to make on which court to watch when there are multiple matches at multiple sites. The Eagles are a team that I consciously did not watch during either event as it is a short drive for me to see them compete during the prep season. However, I still feel bad that I missed such a talented team. Hanni is one of several ranked athletes on the Silver Lake squad. She finished with an eye-popping 1,025 assists last season. She could break multiple school recorded before he prep career is over.
