Setters who Slayed: Top Playmakers from the Prep Dig Gauntlet

The Prep Dig Gauntlet was packed with talent, but the setters stole the show. These players weren't just making good decisions; they were running the game, keeping hitters in rhythm, and making the tough plays look easy. From delivering perfect balls in transition to turning broken plays into highlight reels, they showed just how important a smart, steady setter can be.

Addison's poise and precision set the pace for Sting United all weekend long. She runs a fast offense with smooth hands that give her tons of options and constantly keep the defense guessing. What stood out most was how well she connected with every hitter; she ensured that everyone remained involved. On top of that, her defense was super solid, and she did an awesome job keeping her team in system, even when things got a little chaotic. Bonus: She puts up a big, effective block that makes attackers think twice.

Tessa's solid serve was her secret weapon at the Gauntlet, keeping teams out of system and giving her squad a big edge. She's an incredibly versatile player with a high volleyball IQ and steady defense. What stood out was how well she kept her middles involved; she was delivering clean, quick sets that kept the offense balanced and hard to read. Tessa brings speed, grit, and isn't afraid to lay out for any ball coming her way. With her all-around skill set and court awareness, I wouldn't be surprised to see her rise in the Wisconsin rankings soon.

Samantha was incredibly consistent all weekend long at the Gauntlet, delivering pinpoint sets to her pins and keeping her middles heavily involved. Her court vision and ability to get to the second ball, no matter the situation, really stood out. She never backed down, no matter who was across the net, and her energy brought out the best in her teammates. I was super impressed with Peterson, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see her crack the rankings soon.

Makaelyn is the glue for her FVP squad and proved exactly why she's considered one of the top 2026 setters in the state. I love her aggressive style of play; she's not afraid to take it over on two and keeps the defense on its toes because of it. She sets a strong, consistent block and does a great job in coverage, always ready to make the extra play. Makaelyn brings fire, leadership, and control to the court. Clark is a name to keep on your radar.

What made Samantha stand out at the Gauntlet was her court vision and ability to track down the second ball no matter the situation, and still deliver an in-system set. Her consistency and leadership were so impressive, and she handled pressure like a pro. Watching her work reminded me just how much responsibility setters carry every single match. She stayed composed, connected with her hitters, and made it all look effortless.
