USAV~Day 1: Committed talent and hungry prospects

Day One of USAV Nationals brought together a packed house of committed talent and hungry prospects, all chasing the cup and making statements from the first serve.   With college coaches lining the courts and rosters full of future stars, the competition is fierce and the energy is unreal. From pin hitters putting balls away to defenders laying out for highlight digs, the level of play is already championship caliber.   I've been glued to the courts since the first whistle—and yes, the stands are buzzing and coaches are taking notes. So, who turned heads on Day One?   Let's take a look at some of the standouts making noise early in Dallas.    [player_tooltip player_id='752847' first='Brooke' last='Larsen'] made a major impact at USAV in Dallas on day 1, proving she belongs on a bigger stage. She was a weapon at the service line, consistently forcing out-of-system passes with pace and precision. At the net, she attacked with confidence and sealed blocks with strong hands and smart timing. Her aggressive hustle in transition kept her available and active on every play. What's even more impressive—she's a 2028 playing up a division, and she didn't flinch under pressure. College coaches took notice, and it's easy to see why.   ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     [player_tooltip player_id='521584' first='Addison' last='Clark'] stood out as an outside hitter at USAV in Dallas with her impressive hang time and strong, controlled swing. She stayed patient at the peak of her jump, allowing her to read the block and snap through with power and placement. Her footwork in transition was clean, keeping her in rhythm for every swing. Addison handled out-of-system balls with maturity, showing she can still find a way to score under pressure. Her air time gave her options—and she used them well. A composed, high-impact pin hitter to watch closely.   ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     [player_tooltip player_id='725181' first='Lily' last='Van Hal'], a Denver commit, showed why she's one of the most complete setters on the court at USAV in Dallas. Her offensive IQ is elite, and when she's front row, her disguised dumps and attacks are nearly impossible to read. She runs a crisp offense, stays composed in tight moments, and makes smart, fast decisions that put her hitters in the best position to score. Her tempo, placement, and leadership make her a setter any team would thrive under. She's long been a Prep Dig favorite—and continues to prove why. For younger setters, this is the player to study.   ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     [player_tooltip player_id='389006' first='Carsyn' last='Kelley'] is turning heads at USAV in Dallas with her love for tempo and creativity. She thrives on running fast routes, keeping the offense in constant motion and blockers off balance. Carsyn isn't afraid to mix it up—throwing in special sets, back-row options, and quick tempo balls that catch defenses flat-footed. Her connection with her hitters was sharp, and she kept her team in system with clean hands and strong decision-making. She's a setter that controls the pace and adds flavor to every touch. A fun, fearless playmaker to keep on your radar.   ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     [player_tooltip player_id='747880' first='Aurora' last='Prudich'] is making her presence known on Day One at USAV in Dallas with a powerful approach and a heavy arm swing. She attacks with confidence—crushing cross-court balls, tagging deep corners, tooling the block, and mixing in a well-timed tip when needed. Her clean footwork and high contact point allow her to see the court and make smart decisions mid-air. Aurora stays aggressive in transition and is always available, even in out-of-system plays. Her physicality at the pin is hard to miss, and she's already proving to be a go-to offensive weapon. Her reaction time at the net is sharp, and she plays with a confident edge that sets the tone for her team. Sidney stays active in transition, gets up fast on quicks, and brings a strong blocking presence that challenges hitters. She's physical, aggressive, and ready on every ball.
