In the fast-paced world of Arkansas high school volleyball, few accomplishments speak to consistency, precision, and leadership quite like reaching 2,000 career assists. With several setters already closing in on this milestone, all eyes are on the players orchestrating their team's offensive rhythm from the quarterback position.

[player_tooltip player_id='412444' first='Haley' last='Thomas'] of Siloam Springs is leading the charge. The senior has already tallied 1,841 career assists, including 708 during her junior campaign. Thomas is on pace to eclipse 2,000 early in her senior season and cement herself among the state's best. This honor would put her name in the Top 10 of the AAA Record Book, with names from Northwest Arkansas like Kenna Phelan, Ella May Powell, and Aubrey Edie.

Another name climbing fast is [player_tooltip player_id='744126' first='Emma' last='Schnackenberg'], a senior setter for Episcopal. With 1,259 total assists and 604 recorded in her junior year, Schnackenberg is expected to make a strong push toward the 2K mark this fall, especially with the return of her core hitters.

Looking ahead, several juniors are making noise and putting themselves on watchlists to join the club before they graduate:

[player_tooltip player_id='749856' first='Reese' last='Davis'], Har-Ber – 1,063 assists

[player_tooltip player_id='749849' first='Ella' last='Reed'], Wynne – 887 assists

[player_tooltip player_id='744272' first='Catelyn' last='Edwards'], Hackett – 804 assists

Each of these juniors play a critical role in their team's success and will be fun to track as they continue to chase greatness. If they maintain their current pace, their names will be added to the 2,000-assist club by the time senior night rolls around.

Setters don't always get the spotlight but these athletes are proving they belong at the center of the conversation. They're the quarterback, the point guard, the ones running the show. As a coach and former player, I've seen firsthand how much of the game runs through the setter. They don't always get the spotlight, but without them, nothing clicks. They control the pace, make quick reads, and keep their hitters in rhythm. If you've got a good one, your team has a shot to compete on November 2nd.
