Catelyn Edwards Catelyn Edwards 5'9" | S/RS Hackett Highschool | 2027 State AR has been a big part of Hackett’s success, and she enters this season with plenty of experience in big matches. She is a proven six-rotation player who can score from the pin, defend the back row, and provide the steady play you need when things get tight.

What I like about Catelyn is that she doesn’t have to dominate one part of the game to make an impact. She is going to get her kills, but she also passes well, plays tough defense, and competes on every point. There isn’t much reason to take her off the floor.

Hackett has the pieces to make another championship run, and Edwards will be a big reason for it. She’s been there before and knows what it takes. If the Hornets are playing for another title late in the season, expect Catelyn to have a lot to do with it.

The Hackett Hornets have been on quite a run. Now that both Freeman’s have graduated and we will see how the offense progresses with a bit of a new cast. I would expect to see Edward’s to be a little more offensive with her ability to hit from the right-side. With 855 assists last season, she proved she can run the show. Outside of Michaelyn Freeman, Edwards did a great job of spreading the ball around. Catelyn is a great athlete overall excelling as a basketball player for Hackett. She has great footwork and ball placement. I look forward to seeing more of her on the court.

Edwards is a clean setter. Her sets to the outside are very smooth and consistent. She has a great connection with her outside Michaelyn Freeman Michaelyn Freeman 6'0" | OH AR . She also had a good connection running quick tempo sets out of the middle. Her defense is also impressive, being able to pick up the hard line shots with ease.
