Coming into the 2025 prep season, no division seems more up for grabs than Division 4.

With the four semifinalist teams being senior-heavy, it will be interesting to see which programs are able to step up and try to make a run to Battle Creek.

Entering the year, there's still some D4 teams that look like they should be top contenders based on the offensive talent they are bringing back.

Here's a look at six teams that should be leading the charge offensively in D4 for the prep season.

Allen Park Inter-City Baptist

The Chargers are a team that relied on a lot of non-seniors in 2024 and should feel good about what they are bringing to the court for the 2025 season. They return four All-Region players, including three on offense. Senior Macy Harrison is back to run the offense at setter. She was efficient in her play as a junior and has a good feel for her roster. On the outside, senior Madeline Frank is back to be a primary hitter, while sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='788963' first='Noell' last='Hughes'] impressed a lot of people with her play as a freshman middle.

Battle Creek St. Philip

The winningest program in D4/Class D history returns the majority of its roster in 2025, which should make a lot of D4 programs nervous. The Fighting Tigers are a team that are only going to get stronger, so starting with a lot of experience puts them in a top spot to open the year. Junior setter Addison Dzwik is an impressive leader that will get the most out of her hitters. Leading the way at the net will be junior middle [player_tooltip player_id='810425' first='Adriana' last='Olsen'], who was very productive as a sophomore.

Crystal Falls Forest Park

One of the consistent powers in the Upper Peninsula, Forest Park looks loaded for the 2025 season when it comes to offensive capabilities. Both setters from its 6-2 formation are back in senior Elise Williams and junior Vienna Price. Each brings their own strengths to the court, including Williams, who can put the ball away on the outside as well. Ava Fischer is back for her senior season on the outside. She consistently records double-digit kills and could be one of the top outsides in D4 this season. Junior Tessa Bartoszek, along with sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='765310' first='Harper' last='Anderson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='765308' first='Evie' last='Anderson'] also are returning contributors that will give the Trojans plenty of hitting options.

Mendon

The Hornets are always one of the teams to watch in D4, and this year will be no different. Offensively, Mendon returns two All-State pin hitters in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='464695' first='Gracie' last='Schultz'] and [player_tooltip player_id='732270' first='Cienna' last='Nightingale']. Both have proven they can put the ball down at a high rate and quickly rack up the kill numbers. Senior Brooke Gerth is also back in the middle to give the Hornets a veteran option aside from their outsides.

Onekama

The Portagers should be very excited about the upcoming season. The team returns four All-State honorees from 2024, including three on offense. Junior Delaney McCarthy and senior [player_tooltip player_id='832517' first='Hailey' last='Hart'] will be a potent 1-2 punch on the pins, and junior Elizabeth McKeough is back to run the offense at setter. Along with this trio, senior [player_tooltip player_id='842121' first='Carley' last='Guerne'] is a right side that had some big-time performances in 2024 as well. These four already have plenty of chemistry, so look for Onemaka to be among the toughest D4 offenses to deal with.

Ubly

The Bearcats did graduate their kill leader, Allie Guza, from 2024. However, Ubly still brings back some strong pieces on offense that should keep it among the best in D4. Junior middle [player_tooltip player_id='611100' first='Waverly' last='Hagen'] looks primed for a big season after she hit .327 as a sophomore and was second on the team in kills. Ubly likes to utilize their middles in a variety of ways, and Hagen looks to be capable of stepping up. On the outside, [player_tooltip player_id='724836' first='Addison' last='Weber'] is a sophomore that made some big contributions as a freshman and should come in with a lot of confidence this season. Seniors Sadi Heleski and [player_tooltip player_id='838461' first='Sophi' last='Heleski'] will also be returning pieces to rely on. Said is back at setter to run the offense while Sophi is another outside option to give Ubly plenty of variety in its attack.
