Houston Stock Up Showcase Players to Watch – Vol 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We at Prep Dig Texas are looking forward to an exciting weekend in Houston as we're set to host our annual Stock Up and Freshman Showcases in the city on Sunday, August 3.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li><strong><a href="https://events.prepdig.com/e/1520/register/houston-stock-up-showcase">Register now!</a></strong></li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>These events are the absolute best way to put the amazing prospects from the Lone Star State right in front of our scouts right before the start of the high school season and are always very fun and helpful in terms of understanding where everyone is at and how their progress should reflect on our State Rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are already familiar with some prospects who will attend the Stock Up Showcase, which this year will feature players from the 2026, 2027 and 2028 graduating classes, from having watched them play for their club or high school teams, but are very excited to see how much they improved from the last time we got to watch them in action.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here are some players we are looking forward to seeing in action on Sunday:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["524085"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-68877d8983f9d"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Martinez is a libero with the Valley Venom club and will come all the way from McAllen to appear in our event. I got to watch her in a club tournament over a year ago and featured her as one of the best liberos on the court, thanks to her ability to make an impact on the backcourt. Martinez is very agile and plays a high-energy game, which allows her to get many touches when playing defense. She also steps up to cover a huge area of the court in serve-receive, remaining consistent and reliable with her deliveries. She's a solid all-around outside hitter who delivers on both sides of the ball and typically plays a key role in the teams she plays for. Goodwin is an outstanding offensive player who uses her leaping ability and her length to make contact with the ball at the highest possible point and is very intelligent with her shot selection, getting to put the ball down in difficult situations and limiting her errors. The middle stood out at the Girls Junior National Championship last month and seems to have tremendous potential, especially considering she's part of two elite programs, which have a tradition of developing elite-level players, in Grand Oaks High School and the [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] club. She's an offensive force at the net, making the most of her size and always making a strong approach for the ball, which allows her to swing very hard every time she goes up.
