The Lansing area is looking like a real hidden gem when it comes to 2027 talents.

The sophomore class last fall really stood out from the capital area and there's some names you need to be keeping track of heading into he 2025 prep season.

Here's part 2 of our two-part look at the top 2027 talents in the Lansing area.

[player_tooltip player_id='582308' first='Kendall' last='Michels'], S/RS Laingsburg/Legacy

Michels shows a lot of diversity in her play as well. She looks comfortable running the offense or taking over on the right side. She reads the play well and knows when to take control on her own. She's got a solid, compact swing that produces consistent velocity. She also shows a lot of promise in her defensive game.

Harper Morgan, OH Mason

Morgan has good potential to be a Lansing-area star. She has good length to utilize her swing and she finds the ball at its peak. There's a lot of consistency in her delivery and she is trusting more in her timing and location choices. As Morgan adds more to her defensive play, it should make her a stronger all-around player.

[player_tooltip player_id='750838' first='Isabelle' last='Ryal'], DS/L Ovid-Elsie

Ryal is a gamer and a real competitor in the back row. Her intensity and drive can be felt through her film. She's always finding herself in the right position to come through with a challenging dig, and her passes keep her offense in-system. Ryal is going to find a way to factor in the match, either with her digs or her serves.

Logan Thomas, OH Ionia

Thomas showed last fall that she can handle a big workload and come through at a solid rate. She finishes from either pin with a nice mixture of power and finesse. Thomas plays with a lot of court IQ, which allows her to make advanced plays that should only get better over the next two seasons.

Sara Tolfree, DS/L Lansing Catholic/FaR Out

Another talented sophomore in the Lansing Catholic program is Tolfree, an agile defender that can make some solid athletic plays in the back row. She's got good anticipation and footwork, allowing her to cover a lot of space. Her passing is becoming more consistent, and she's got a serve that shows a lot of promise.

Avah Vozar, DS/L Eaton Rapids/Attack VBC

Vozar was a dig and ace leader for Eaton Rapids last fall. Her serve was a big key throughout the season and sparked plenty of rallies for the Greyhounds. Vozar looks comfortable leading and directing in the back row. She has good communication skills and also knows how to lead by example with her play.

[player_tooltip player_id='790522' first='Kyra' last='Vukovic'], MH Lansing Catholic/FaR Out

At 6'3” Vukovic is very imposing at the net and is a factor in most matches she is part of. She's got plenty of length to disrupt a lot of shots. Offensively, Vukovic doesn't need much space to generate good pop on the ball. She's doing a good job of improving on her timing and footwork, which should make her a more dynamic player over the next year.
