Lexington United 15 Blue, White, Grey Seasons in Review

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>These teams played local schedules and had mixed results.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Blue</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dakota Johnson led this team that had its struggles, but did place third in one tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Three Rowan County teammates played on this team led by libero [player_tooltip player_id='781412' first='Eliza' last='McGillicuddy'], who had 198 digs and 30 aces for the Valkyries last fall. The other two are sophomore right side/opposite hitters Cheyenne Donahue and Raylee Withrow. The other two defensive specialists were West Jessamine sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='506428' first='Kayla' last='Hatton'], Lexington Christian sophomore Anna Morgan and Madison Tuttle. The setters were Anderson County sophomore Amber Chapman and Alexa Hatton.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Margaret O'Bryan took on challenges in the middle with Lainey Keller taking on things on the right side. Garrard County sophomore Kenzley Adams finished the roster as an outside hitter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>White</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team led by head coach Christian Bowling finished third in one tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team consisted of five libero/defensive specialists including Lexington Christian sophomore Madelyn Meade and Frankfort Christian's Gia Picha. The other three were Sydney Wolery, Kherington Smith and Lola Nance. The setter was Amelia Nance.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ellen Brumley and Audrey Cox handled things in the middle. Gracelyn Welch played outside hitter and Ella Hurley played on the opposite side.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Grey</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Grace Ransdell guided this team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The liberos were Model 5-6 sophomore Katelynn Sayre, Evangeline Davidson and Esmeralda Garcia with Rylee Scott doing the setting. She reacts quickly to balls to make sound two to three-point passes. McGillicuddy puts free balls over the net with strong intent. She does a good job going hard after balls. Withrow does a good job with in-air adjustments. Withrow can hit balls off blocks for big kills and send balls to different directions on the court. She gives a good effort going after balls on defense.
